There is nothing more frustrating than being taught that you need to adhere to every decree of the "prophet" since prophets can't lead you astray, while simultaneously believing that anytime they do mess up, you're just supposed to be okay with it and not judge them, and you get gaslighted into thinking you're wicked or unrealistic if you don't blindly follow them. Also, you'll be blessed for following them even if they're wrong, which makes no sense in regards to the doctrine of free agency

In about 2010 my friend and I went to the church office building to deliver a petition we had solicited from people all over the world regarding the now defunct one year wait punishment for daring to be married civilly and NOT inside the temple. So many people were hurt by that too and Nelson says they weep when others do BS! While we were waiting for Michael Otterson the receptionist asked if she could turn on the I'm a Mormon videos for us. I said we were fine, then in about 5 minutes she offered again so I told her that I was no longer a member and that she could watch my "I'm an ex-Mormon" video if she liked on KZbin. They spent a ton of money on the I'm a Mormon campaign. "SPENDING FOR SATAN"

According to his biography by Sheri Dew, Russell's aircraft incident occurred Friday, November 12, 1976 on his way to Rolfe Kerr's inauguration as President of Dixie College in St. George, Utah. The flight was from Salt Lake. According to the account, the blown engine, death spiral, and emergency landing in the field happened near Delta, Utah. No Incident report was filed with either the FAA or the NTSB. The Millard County Chronicles Progress (the Delta newspaper) makes no mention of this incident. The nearby Millard County Chronicle in Fillmore wrote nothing of it. The St. George Color Spectrum has nothing on it. Deseret News reported one aircraft incident in Box Elder, as well as another aircraft accident in Ireland; but nothing else. The Salt Lake Tribune reported an aircraft accident in Florida, but nothing as regards anything in Delta or anywhere else in the State of Utah. The Dixie College Sun did mention Russell by name as giving the invocation at Rolfe Kerr's inauguration. The only verifiable fact we have from Russell's account is that, indeed, he did make it to the prayer on time.

I resigned over the policy regarding children of gay parents, but was not part of the mass resignation. "We weep when our members weep?" So are they weeping now, when evidence overwhelmingly shows that the jag they urged on the members is killing a lot of people (even the young and healthy) and causing reproductive issues in many of those it doesn't kill? And many who died prayed and were told not to take it - but "the prophet" overruled God in their minds, so they "followed the prophet" instead of listening to God, and paid a very sad price. 😢

I am so grateful to have become a member of this church. I thank the Lord every day for that blessing, and I am especially indebted to the Lord for again calling true prophets on the earth in our day. This is something to be celebrated. Russell M. Nelson is just such an individual prophet. What a man of God he is. Of course you can offer your opinion that such and such were not true, and justify your opinion of that because you have not yet found evidence of what was described, but that does not affect the truthfulness of the event. The temple in China is most exciting. Check back in 10 years when it will be operational.

@@gunnerlawts Our host here, NEMO, is what some call an anomaly. He presumably believes in the Church and wants to retain his membership in it, but he disagrees with most of its doctrines. I think he understands more and believes more than he lets on. Some see him as a paradox - claiming to be a fact checker while being dishonest about it, and not wanting to leave the faith he purports to as being a lie. Very curious and interesting. For instance, the church cooperates closely with the Chinese government in all its operations in China. The temple in China will likely be a portion of an existing multipurpose building in Shanghai and not built specifically as a temple. Pres Nelson said "In Shanghai, a modest multipurpose meeting place will provide a way for Chinese members to continue to participate in ordinances of the temple-in the People’s Republic of China-for them and their ancestors,”. It could well be an existing church facility in Shanghai that will be specially dedicated for only Chinese members, of which there are close to 10,000. Or it could be built as a multipurpose facility from scratch. The important part is that it is only to be for Chinese members. SO it will enhance the Chinese belief in families. I enjoyed attending LDS church services in Shanghai for expatriates several years ago. It was really cool. Pres Nelson actually is highly thought of and respected by Chinese officials. If he says there will be a functioning temple in Shanghai, there will definately be a functioning temple in Shanghai. It does not need to be built as one however. The Lord works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. Of that I have great faith.

NEMO- something was pointed out to me today. President Nelson in 2018 stated church members can become gods and have dominion over other planets. I went to gospel topic essays on the church website. Becoming Like God is blank as of 12:30 pm EST. I then went to church news, FAQ section. Under "Do Latter-day Saints believe they can become gods?" this has been changed. The church is now stating God wants us become like him. They then blame any notion of members becoming gods on critics of the church. The new gospel principles manual from 2009 (p. 277) says people who are exalted can become gods. The second thing from the news FAQ is "Do Latter-day Saints believe they will "get their own planet"?" Th answer to this is "No" according to the church. This has been taught in the last 23 years I have been a member. So why the change now?

It's truly miraculous that the glaring contradictions made by succeeding presidents of the church do not register within the bulk of it's members. It seems they accept what their prophet will say today and give him a pass for yesterday's contradictions. Any challenge to these things is considered wrong and frowned upon. It truly is a miracle that God given logic and the ability to think is forfeited. Thanks again NEMO.

It made me think of Joseph Smith and lending the 116 pages to Martin Harris. Begging the lord for permission to lend the pages. Was the Q15 doing the same thing by begging the lord to overturn it and finally the lord gives in? The Lord DID remove His name from the church in Joseph's day. It became the Church of the Latter-day Saints. Joseph was trying to get the people to repent and qualify for the Lord re-restoring what they had lost, but they didn't do it. D&C 124. They didn't build the temple as was required. They and their dead were rejected. BRIGHAM changed the name back, but he didn't have any authority to do so. As joseph warned, if Brigham got control of the church he'd lead it straight to hell. That's the predicament we find ourselves in. Jesus is the only way.

NEMO at 5:16 re. growth of the church. I know someone who served in Mozambique up to the time of the pandemic. They were averaging 10 baptisms some weeks in many wards. Incidentally this is one of the new temple announcements. So the 50% drop may be due to the pandemic. My ward had next to no baptisms in the last 16 months because the building was shut down for much of that time. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next three years re. growth in membership numbers around the globe. My guess is African countries will see growth in membership again as will South American countries. It is hard to tell what will happen elsewhere in the world. There are missionaries who served pre-pandemic in some European countries who did not have one baptism during their mission.

Anyway, I don't see how to say that the pandemic didn't slow the progress when worldwide the church dropped by almost 50% of baptisms, even though some localities may have grown, in general the numbers are low. Fewer missionaries are even serving the church by removing several restrictions such as internet usage during mission. Fewer children are being registered with the church, which should indicate fewer active members. The church in Japan and Europe is collapsing, in Europe it was weak, in Japan 3 stakes were closed this year (last month)

It's not currently possible, until China allows it, which I think is very unlikely to happen. Now the prophet may have announced for maybe 50...100 years....200 years to happen... well, we're going to be dead without being able to prove that the prophet lied, right? The Hong Kong temple appears to have been closed for over a year for renovation, and will likely remain so, the other temple in Shanghai has no groundbreaking announcement, nothing else, we just have so far a statement from China not recognizing this. China only recognizes 5 religions, and the Mormon Church is not legally recognized as a religion by the Chinese government, if even as a religion it is recognized, having a temple will be even further away

@@jsmith1746 The problem that church members are blind, this announcement is something that won't happen while many are alive, but will believe it will still happen.... it's like believing that the second coming of Jesus is near, and at the time Joseph Smith believed it would be while he was alive. As the statement of the chosen generation, every generation for decades is the chosen generation. The problem is to see that Prophet Nelson clearly lied about the claim that the church was accelerating growth during the pandemic (new convert numbers were halved from pre-2000 numbers), and also about the unreported plane crash. Even though the prophet lied, people will try to believe he is a prophet.

I had just started a new job as an executive for a water utility in California. I had broad responsibility over several primary business and regulatory functions of the utility. As a result of overseeing the utilities regulatory functions I needed to stay abreast of the water production operations which are regulated on many fronts including water quality. There are dozens of contaminants that must be tested for in wells that provide culinary water that humans drink and ingest through cooking and beverage making. Arsenic is a poison often found naturally in well water. There are regulation set forth by both federal and state governments as to how much arsenic can naturally be present before the well is shut down. The EPA standard is 10 parts per billion (ppm). The wells were tested periodically for arsenic. For each well, the amount of arsenic varied for each test. The test results had to be filed with the health department. If the amount of arsenic exceeded the maximum contaminant level (mcl), then the well had to be taken out of service. When’s well is taken out of service the amount of water no longer being pumped has to be made up from another source. Nearly always, the other source of water is significantly more expensive than the well water. While in attendance at a meeting between the Operations Vice President and the manage of water quality, the manager of water quality reported that a particular well had exceeded the mcl for arsenic. The Operations VP ordered that the official test results to be altered to reflect a lower mcl in order to not shut down the well which would in turn save a lot of money. Besides saving money it saved the company from various customer notification procedures and other requirements that were necessary to comply with once the well exceeded the mcl. Being new, I didn’t cause a scene at that meeting, over learning the company I had just started working for was falsifying water quality test results. Instead I quietly began investigating how often this was done and what the penalties were for falsifying test results. To my dismay, I found that falsifying reports to regulatory agencies was common practice in the industry to avoid the regulatory burdens associated with an out of compliance well. In my case I gathered the facts and risks and presented them to the President, Chairman of the board and other top executives. A short time later the Operations VP retired early and strict orders were given to not falsify test results. I say this because I have first hand knowledge that companies purposely minimize reports that go to regulatory agencies in order to avoid burdensome requirements placed upon them when a incident occurs which triggers regulatory compliance procedures. I would not doubt for a moment that the airline which flew Russell M. Nelson minimized the report with respect to the incident in which President Nelson was a part of. I trust President Nelson’s version much more than the airlines version. Smearing a person’s reputation over as scant as evidence as you have presented says much about your motivations.

Had another watch and listen due to your thorough and interesting videos. I noticed when Pres. Nelson spoke regarding changes he referred to the will of the Lord and church policy in the same statement. Nothing really wrong with that, except when it comes to pointing out these changes with other LDS members who often state that a change is merely a tweek of church policy and not the will nor the mind of the Lord. Some of these changes are scriptural and/or fundamental and for some faithful members a policy change is interpreted as an internal matter and not the will of the Lord.

Notice how Nelson uses the word "truth". He doesn't say "teach nothing but the truth", he says, "teach nothing but 'truth'". This is a very common way for religions to use this word. Rather than define "truth" as "that which corresponds with reality", the implied definition is, "that which corresponds with the doctrine". He's basically saying that there are certain immutable facts about reality that are indisputable. But what he, or rather the writer of his talk, doesn't take into account is that the problem for people does not lie in what is or is not a fact, the problem lies in what we can _know_ is true or know what is a fact, or know what the most reasonable conclusion is for a given proposition. We do not merely get to _assert_ things into existence by our mere speaking them. They have to be demonstrated and/or rationally justified. And even then, we do not get to claim knowledge, we can only claim to have the most reasonable belief or conclusion in that moment with the information we have available. And because we can't claim knowledge, these beliefs or statements made about reality _are_ disputable. We can't know if they are in fact immutable facts about reality. This is the whole problem. I'm kind of digressing, but in my opinion, there are many religions and religious sects that use epistemological terms incorrectly (possibly by design, just as they would incorporate the scientific term "experiment"), and I have found that the Mormon church is one of the more obvious offenders. edit: I would argue that the reason why Nelson is speaking in the way that he is is because, whether it be intentional or not, he's operating from within a dogmatic mindset. And dogmatists will speak about "truth" and "belief" and "knowledge" and "facts" based on many unchallenged assumptions that are effectively axiomatic in their mind. And because of these assumptions, they will get confused as to what they mean to say when speaking about epistemological concepts. So if Nelson were aiming for accuracy in his terminology, what he really meant to say is, "teach nothing but _facts"._ But again, this assumes knowledge is obtainable, which is an unsurprising assumption coming from a dogmatist. And besides that, using the word "truth" probably carries some feel-good baggage with it too.

LDS members WILL revier Joseph Smith as deity at ALL times. As such, the Prophet, Seer and Revelator of succession will do NO wrong, say NO wrong, and act NO wrong. Rule number two: You will pretend to not notice there is nothing to substantiate the Book of Mormon as an inspired book. Even though there is no archeology, artifacts, written collaboration, or sociology to support the single source manuscript, you will speak reverently regarding the MIRICAL that it is. You MUST say it is the most correct of all books and never say that it has been changed over 4 thousand times. Rule number three: You MUST declare LDS as a Christian nuance. You will NEVER speak of our doctrine where we believe Jesus is the literal son of god and his goddess wife begotten in the pre-existence, the brother of all spirits born in heaven in the premortal existence, one of 3 gods in the godhead, the Trinity is three separate gods, first one to receive a spirit body, atoned for sin on the cross and in the garden of Gethsemane, and was a polygamist, having 4 wives and several children. Further, you will NEVER read, review, experience any unauthorized material regarding LDS history, BoM history, Mormonism etc. ONLY LDS approved material will be authorized for your consumption. NEMO- Re. Mormon nickname removal at 5:52. This was a contentious issue in 2018. What I want to point out is the fact that this was a long time coming. Elder Ballard used to caution members about the correct reference to the LDS Church long before 2018. Other general authorities also made these comments periodically. However the "I am a Mormon" campaign, references by Presidents Hinckley and Monson to "Mormons" in talks and media department references to LDS as synonymous with "Mormon" meant no change was coming. I suspect this was a struggle or at least a pet peeve among the 15 brethren in SLC. So when President Nelson was called, that's when the changes occurred. He was on the side to eliminate "Mormon". It meant a major rebranding. Even the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is now known as "The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square".

The only NTSB entry for Nov 12, 1976 was an incident in Brigham City--on the opposite end of the state from St. George--at 4:30 PM. Not many details, but it does mention engine failure and landing in a field. There is almost no chance Russ was on board though.

I posted this above, but it looks like you would be interested. I found this in the Civil Aeronautics Board Reports. "Second incidence occurred Nov. 11, 1976 involving Piper PA 31 N74985. Pilot experienced rough engine on scheduled flight between Salt Lake City and St. George. 3 passengers on board. Engine was feathered and precautionary landing made at Delta, Utah, per instructions in company manual. Investigation revealed cylinder base studs sheered. As result of occurrence Sky West change maintenance procedures by checking torque studs at each 100 hour inspection. No damage to aircraft. No injuries to crew or passengers." This report shows several things. First, not all incidents are reported to the NTSB since this is a documented incident not listed on the NTSB website. Second, since the engine was feathered, that indicates the engine had stopped working. It may have been that the engine had caught on fire or was just blowing a lot of smoke. To passengers flying in a tiny plane (Pipers are small), it would probably seem as if the engine was on fire. Third, this was the regular SkyWest commuter flight between Salt Lake and St. George. Either the date is wrong in the report (the inauguration really was on Nov. 12) or President Nelson flew in the day before but mentions Nov. 12 because that was the big event. Neither publications nor memories are always perfect. They probably didn't fly this route every single day. Note there were only 3 passengers, so there wasn't high demand, nor were there a lot of other people to confirm the event. Remember President Nelson is 96 and has outlived a lot of people. At a minimum, this lends a lot of credibility to President Nelson's story and definitely casts some doubt on some of the things you claim here. Here is the link to the report if anyone would like to verify this plane incident for themselves. www.google.com/books/edition/_/wNa3AAAAIAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&pg=PA1090&dq=skywest+incidents+1976

"On November 12, 1976, Russell Nelson had boarded a commuter plane in Salt Lake City to fly the quick route to St. George, Utah, where he was to give the invocation at the inauguration of W. Rolfe Kerr as the president of Dixie College. It was a short hop of less than an hour in a small, two-engine propeller plane. Only four passengers on board. The pilot had just announced that they were halfway to St. George when the engine on the right wing exploded, spewing oil all over the right side of the aircraft and then bursting into flames. In an attempt to douse the flames, the pilot turned the fuel off, causing the small plane to go suddenly into a free fall death spiral. The woman across the aisle from Russell began to scream hysterically. But Russell felt calm. “It was the most amazing thing,” he said. “I thought, ‘My wife and I are sealed. Our children are sealed to us. I’ve honored my covenants. I’ll meet my ancestors and go on to a glorious resurrection..'” He was, however, impressed with how quickly and comprehensively the mind can work. “It’s true, your life does flash before you. I had a bright recollection and perfect remembrance of my whole life. One major thought was that all of the framed awards and honors on my wall, the various clothes I’d worn - tuxedos and uniforms and doctoral robes - didn’t mean anything. What mattered was that I had my garments on and had been faithful to the covenants I’d made in the temple. I knew I was going to die, but I knew I would be fine.” Miraculously, the free fall extinguished the fire, and, in the nick of time, the pilot was able to start the left engine, regain control of the plane, and guide it to an emergency landing in a farmer’s field not far from Delta, Utah. Everyone walked away from the incident unharmed. Another plane was dispatched, and Russell made it to St. George in time to give the invocation." All this happened and the CAB report states that there was no damage to the aircraft?

@@ko9s422 great find. I didn't even think to use the trusty old Google search 😳. I am totally willing to be wrong and allow for imperfection from 40 years ago in an old man's memory. But @Rob Hastings has a good point too: Nelson's story is a catastrophic, life threatening event when the reality was more of a maintenance issue. The story he tells is dramatized for effect at best--right in the gray area of dishonest at worst. I'll even give some leeway for Nelson not being a pilot and that it was probably a fairly scary event. He's giving more of a show with this story than the facts back up.

@@gunnerlawts I get the purpose of the story. The context of this video is that Nelson (and other leaders) habitually tells contradictory, trumped up, or just plain false stories for inspiration or self-aggrandizement. In its original context maybe it doesn't matter if there was even an airplane at all. But in how many other contexts is this story going to be used as a true miraculous event? I mean, it's in his official biography without much deviation from the way he tells it.

NEMO - The entry for "Becoming Like God" on the Gospel Topic Essays has now been replaced on the church website with a revised version. This happened a few hours ago. After reviewing past prophets of the church and their stance on members becoming gods and having dominion over kingdoms and planets, they are now downplaying the significance of this for today. They use the word "interpretation" over doctrine today. The entry mentions 1947 and that was the year Hinckley wrote a book which broke down the divinity of humans and how they will have dominion over other worlds if they achieve exaltation. I know RFM is planning on discussing this later tonight in his podcast.

There are only two accidents in the NTSB database in Utah during November 1976. One of them was in fact on November 12, 1976. However it was a single engine Cessna 210, and it occurred on a "local" flight (local meaning the flight was intended to takeoff and land at the same airport) at 4:30pm in Brigham City, UT, over 150 miles from Delta, UT and over 300 miles from St. George, where Dixie State is located. It does have the similarity of being a non-fatal, off airport landing in a field. The cause of the accident is listed as fuel starvation, meaning the likelihood of a wing being on fire is extremely remote because about the only thing that can burn on the wing of a Cessna 210 would be the fuel tanks, which were empty. The second accident in the NTSB database from November 1976 was on November 6, 1976 in Grantsville, UT. It was a single engine Piper PA-24, and it was a fatal accident.

Shutting down a rough running engine, feathering the prop, and making a precautionary landing at an alternate airport according to company policy in a lightly loaded twin aircraft is hardly worth mentioning unless it made Nelson late for his appointment, which it apparently did not. It is certainly a far cry from death spiral dive in an aircraft engulfed in flames with hysterical female on board and both engines out. What about the right engine "bursting open" and catching fire, the aircraft engulfed in flames, the left engine failure, the death spiral dive, the miraculous left engine re-start? And as Dr. Moore asked, what about landing the plane in a farmer's field? Compared to what was actually reported, Nelson's story is a lie.

"Yeah, so we had these 3 small episodes of engine failures, but really none of them were a big deal and everything was fine. We followed company protocol and now we've updated our maintenance procedures, so really, everything is fine now. They were all really minor and not worth reporting. It's all just fine. The planes are great. The pilots and passengers are great. Nothing to see here." In other words, please don't fine us or hold us in violation. Too funny! So you are willing to put your full faith and credit in a probable airline employee trying to save the company's rear-end while giving zero credibility to someone who was actually on the plane and even in a secular sense had good standing as a famous heart surgeon. @@derralhawthorne4616 [I'm sorry, but you deal in logic yet you are a faithful member of a very illogical religion?] Happy to discuss anything you claim to be illogical about it. At present, all you have done is presuppose - hardly logical. [Logic would certainly lean towards the cornerstone of the religion, the BOM to be non historical at best] I will start with this - religion is faith in God's revelations, and has spanned time, but history has never been the key; it has had to happen, incidentally. The BoM has the correct balance of revelations and incidental history. History doesn't have to be proven, and the revelations are proven by the witness of the Spirit, but only to those who are worthy; not to all. [and a complete fabrication meant to deceive at worse.] Logic dictates that if a person is deceived, they fall prey to something, so what are we prey to from believing the revelations contained in the book? Forget about the history. [To this you can only claim a feeling from god as support of truth in the face of overwhelming proof it is not being historical, there is no logic in that.] There is no need to confirm the historical events; they are somewhat moot, and only provide the thread of the wanderings of certain groups, as revelations come. Logic says throw out the redundant, or it will send you down a rabbit hole. As for the revelations; some were more than feelings, but direct words, and even direct visits, but we must also conclude the use of feelings are valid, because God uses them, as evidenced in many biblical events, as well as in events in Smith's era. Logic says don't discard how God operates. Satan wants people not to have personal communication with God. It is illogicl to follow what he wants. [Logic would indicate that if the BOM is not historical then the rest of the religion is also not true.] Logic dictates that absense of evidence is not proof history hasn't transpired. Besides presuming you have proven it is a fable on the strength of not finding a sword here or there, the 6,000 years of history has 6 billion people with no similar proof of how they got here, historically. Your conclusion? - nearly 6 billion don't exist? lol. [You sir cannot "deal in logic" when you are in a faith based religion.] On the contrary, if God decrees it is faith based, then it is highly logical to comply. And faith is merely a necessary component - there is much that is logical supporting God's plan, but illogical to rule out what God includes. If you want to shoot ducks, I will supply you with a spear gun. No chance. If you want to shoot fish, I will give you a shotgun. No chance. But if you use the shotgun for the duck shoot, and the spear gun for the fish, you will succeed both times (provided you are competent). The right tool for the job is common sense, and the right tool for salvation is faith.

@@gunnerlawts I appreciate your passion and understand that basing your life on a religion for the last 60 years, especially one that has so many historical issues takes dedication. To start, the historicity of the BoM is not a moot point, it is the cornerstone of the religion. It shows the hand of god leading to the full restoration of the gospel on this continent up to JS being led to the plates. The story of the BoM is as important as the revelations contained within to the restoration of the gospel. Unfortunately, the story includes belief in the tower of babel, impossible year long voyage in closed up submarines full of livestock and bees. Battles with hundreds of thousands dead at one time that used steel swords, chariots and horses with no historical evidence. We have found evidence for Vikings swords in the world, we should have found the steel, chariots, bones of horses, nephite coins, not to mention DNA to support the claim. In this case, lack of evidence is clear evidence of falsehood. You also speak of the logic of "working in god's way" but this requires certain concessions to be made. For example you must concede that there is a god, that the bible is written under the direction of that god, that there is indeed a satan who is tempting you. You have to concede that there is a holy spirit that speaks to our hearts and minds before you can say trusting feelings is the way god works. You also must reject all other religions as false because they don't use your books or your same way of god merhods. This is the price that is paid by the fraud. You have based your life, your relationships, gave 10 percent of your money and who knows how many hours of your life away from your family, self discovery etc to a false religion. That is the deception. It is control, the religion has controlled the entire trajectory of your life. That is the price you continue to pay for membership.

This was a pretty weak video. It would ne nice to have President Nelson on this one with you so he could respond. Pretty weak arguments. This isn't mean to be an attack or offensive, but if this video was presented in a court of law where there was a defense and a prosecution, where both sides could explain themselves, I think every point is one where we could all agree on. The plane - perhaps the government agency didn't keep a correct record that day (The government making a mistake? Pretty plausible) Shanghai Temple - An office in Shanghai said that isn't happening. OK. Do we know why they said that? We have no idea. You even mention that. Difficult to put a ton of weight on this comment. Temple requirements not changing - Again, OK, they have changed but is President Nelson lying and seeking to deceive when he was sharing, in my view, the principle that we need to be worthy and live chaste lives. In the context of what he was saying, living the law of chastity is still required - that's what he was talking about. Onward march of His truth - people complain all the time "the CHurCh CaRes TOO MucH aBoUt NumBerS". Perhaps he wasn't talking about numbers. You assume at first he was talking about numbers or money, but what if he was talking about the gospel being preached throughout the world at an accelerated rate. Many missions are teaching more than ever. Sure, those lessons might not be leading to baptism, but we are trying to move people closer to God and hearing the message is a great first step. Pandemic made ZOOM a household name and changed the face of missionary work FOREVER. Mormon word usage - Oh boy. Really? At the time, the use of Mormon was needed. Now it's a new day. There was a time for using the word, now the time has passed. What if Christ told President Nelson, "Russell, it's time to take the next step and focus on my name." You know he was not calling previous prophets Satan followers for doing something that, at the time, had meaningful purpose. But we evolve, we change, all part of the ongoing restoration. You are not the first to mention this "triggering" language about "a victory for Satan" but it's so silly to me. 2015 revelation - God gives us light for the next few steps, the we can gain more information and learn from our course of action. God doesn't gives us all of the pieces to the puzzle. He gives us one piece. Things were learned during those 3 years. Not everything that happened from that decision was bad. Good things were learned and good things happened. The whole idea of prophets leading us astray because a decision they made was later changed doesn't make sense to me. Things are learned along the way and people are tested. Perhaps people's faith was being tired. Now why would God have a prophet do that? Because God does that some times. 3 Nephi 26:9-11 Overall, not a well done video. I wish you had presented both sides to the issue. It sounds like you are trying to label President Nelson as a liar with very weak examples to support an untrue argument. As I said before, I hope you get to chat with President Nelson in his office one day and you guys can review this video and he can explain it all to you so you both come to an understanding.
