Before I found this guy, I came across Miklos Lukacs by accident on Spotify only yesterday - and loved it. I confess I'd never heard of a Cimbalom before and didn't know what I was listening to until I looked it up. This has opened my eyes and ears to a whole new world of music, superb!!

What a feast to the ear and to the eye! Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (the composer of the original from his opera "Czar Saltan") would have loved it, and Sergei Rachmaninov (who made the best-known arrangement of the original for the piano) would have been raging with envy due to the inhumanly fast tempo ... One can formally imagine the bumble-bee buzzing around one´s head and driving one insane ... BRAVO Jenö !!!

I saw the Roby Lakatos ensemble at the Barbican yesterday, and they blew me away. Especially Roby and Jeno! I didn't know what the instrument was that sounded sort of like a piano crossed with a guitar, but now I do. Wow. They are so great, My favourite violinist, and an amazing new instrument to explore!

Tsymbaly is also an accepted term in English for one of many different kinds of chordophone instruments that have multiple strings and are hammered. A cimbalom a real hungariam cimbalom as in this video is different, you cannot take that cimbalom out and strap it onto your neck as the tsymbaly... Cimbalom may have up to 200kg.. Tambal, dulcimer is the same instrument, But tsymbaly is not the same instrument
