Older video but if the magnetic heading (MH) has 0 deviation then compass heading (CH) should be 103, not 105.

Pretty sure the course you get from the plotter is the true course and after you apply the wind correction angle using the e6b that is the true heading...

This is a great video, but there is ine thing that I don‘t understand. How did you get your compass-heading of 105° from your magnetic heading of 103°?
@AkhileshJalakanta
@AkhileshJalakanta 5 жыл бұрын
From Compass deviation card. Since, the CH = 105 deg & MH = 103 deg, the deviation = 2 deg W

@@AkhileshJalakanta But he says there is no deviation and puts "0" in the deviation box...?
@samuelwarner9411
@samuelwarner9411 4 жыл бұрын
@@adamriggen8908 He made a small error. Magnetic deviation is 0º, so compass heading is 103º.

Great vids, I am trying to grasp the procedure LOC DME approach . Eg..... Southampton EGHI . This is on flight sim.my understanding of this is coming from the south heading north ish from the isle of white ,I could hold the 10 mile from SAM, track this clockwise until I-SN Loc is active . Track I-SN inbound until 0.3nm away from SAM. Now track SAM 031• to 7.1nm away. The chart for this is .. EGHI Charts .. On google . Pls if u could help me with this it would be most appreciated . Many Thanks

Maybe stay on the ground, you won’t be able to figure out what 1000 ft above the ground is for a traffic pattern at an airport.....

You estimate your climb out at 2 Min to 7,500 feet. Is this correct?
@foonzelde
@foonzelde 5 жыл бұрын
No. The time in climb is already part of the 30min trip time, as the ground that is covered during climb is part of the 61nm total distance at 122kts. He simply added 2 minutes to allow for the assumption the he would be slower than 122kts average during the climb.

Why use pencil and paper when you can use a calculator. Don't make sense at all! I had to learn that shit a long time ago when I got my license. I hated every minute of it! Thank God for Foreflight!

Going through this crap right now... have a Dynon Skyview Touch Glass EFIS... it's like requesting everyone learn Morse Code at 30 wpm to send telegrams for train communications at stations.... its outdated. No one does it. Also have redundancy in my plane... Dynon D1 for speed, elevation via GPS and horizon, and Garmin Aera 500 for mapping. Or get an iPad and Foreflight. Already have ADS-B Out and In, so winds aloft are always showing.
