Thank you for doing this video! I have to say that vfr nav logs are probably the single most challenging thing I have had trouble with. I have watched multiple videos and my CFI has walked me through filling one out a few times and have really struggled through it. I just followed through your video doing all of the calculations along with you on my asa cx3 and I actually got it to work out. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this step by step walk through! Thank you again!

This was great. Was looking for help on using new E6B. I was going through Sporty’s ground school before taking flight training and they don’t really touch on using it for ground test.

Which barometric pressure are you using for each way point? Or is it the same for the whole trip?

do you have the nav log in pdf to follow along?

the math was wrong with the time of climb, half of a minute is 30 seconds not 50 seconds. it should have been 3.3 not 3.5 (3.5 would be 3 minutes 50 seconds)
@mikeryan62773 жыл бұрын
I think your math might be wrong. 1 10th of a minute is 6 sec. there for .5 minutes is 30 sec. not 50 sec.

You are lining the arrows up with a longitude line not latitude.

I’m a professional videographer/producer with content on television. Word of advice; do not put music on any instructional videos. You are taking the focus away from where it needs to be. Good luck with future videos.

Absolutely! Now I know, I have no idea what I was thinking when I added music 😅 You live and you learn. Thanks for the advice

Doesn't really show you how to use the E6b. You're just pushing through buttons as if some of us already know how to use one . Also, its longitude, not latitude line. You can really throw some people off with that

If I were a check pilot, I'd immediately fail him for at least two reasons in the first four minutes. (I couldn't bear watching the rest.) 1. Repeatedly and incorrectly calling lines of longitude by the wrong term demonstrates a sketchy understanding of navigation. 2. Most important, not using another (lower) chart that actually depicts the departure airfield. The two charts can be aligned with each other and glued together with rubber cement which doesn't distort the printed material. If he has an emergency and his intended route of flight is compromised affecting the planned airfields, he may not be able to find a suitable airfield. The cost of the charts is cheap insurance.

If the point of this video was critical navigation, there might be some validity to your comment. But, that is not what the subject of this video is about. The point of it is how to use an electronic e6b to help you fill out a vfr nav log, which this video does exquisitely. This video knocked it out of the park for helping me with something I’ve been struggling with for a couple of months now.
