I spoke CFI couple days ago. He could get my PPL in about for around 8,000. I asked him how he’s charging half what the school charge? He said I own the plane and I don’t own a building so I don’t have any overhead. He told me something interesting as well. He said he would also combine requirements together like Night flying, instrument, cost country all in one.

Do you know, when I talked to the schools they said earning your ppl that way is a poor way to do it, is that just to try and get people into their schools or is there some truth to it

Chair flying advice is huge. Not even just a flight thing. People use "dry firing" in improving their trigger control for firearms to become better at it (only difference is the BANG). Long story short, he's not joking. Trust it.

You mentioned links for cadet programs and scholarships? I’m a 30 something disabled (non disqualifying disability for pilot license) student, graduating top of my class next month with my associate of science in computer science and accepted to a data science bachelor program after dropping out of high school, but have always had a passion for flying since childhood. Recently I’ve been seeing so many single engine aircraft videos in my feed, it’s encouraging me to look into getting my pilots license but I have no idea where to start considering I’m not working and don’t have the funds… I haven’t even wanted to ask around because I’m embarrassed people will laugh at me for even asking

Thanks for the tips!!! I’m gonna look into flight clubs, I’d never heard of that before now The flight school I’m at right now is dragging out ground forever and I may need to just go with a club When you fly with the club are you with a CFI?

Not a helicopter. It’s a sea plane, and I believe it has a landing gear option as well for land operations. But it’s called the Icon A5 sea plane
