Nice to see tutorials on Russian aircraft for X-Plane! Looking forward to see one day a tutorial on the Tupolev Tu-154M made from Felis for X-Plane. It's a very detailed and complex Russian plane, much like the FlyJsim B727.

Update: I picked up the Felis Tu154 during the Thanksgiving weekend sale. What an amazing cockpit! I don't know how soon we will make a video with it, but at least we have it in the hangar now!

So based on just some observations the panel you suggested as fuel is definitely bleed air/climate control, most of the flow lines go into temperature controllers and at some point I guess also has an environmental intake on the front. The fuel system is on the front of the pedestal but doesn't seem to actually work. If you want the altimeter in feet, there's an electronic altimeter above the standard one, just crank the brightness nob to make it visible. Unfortunately it only seems to have hPa and not inHg setting. Great job otherwise :D

6:21 APU damper flap is IIRC APU air inlet. 7:00 Upper one is APU heating (OBOREB BCY). Lower one is DC fuel pump. Heating is used to heat APU compartment for starting in temperatures below -25*C. 7:45 BCY is APU DC generator, PAN is DC ground power. OBORP AKK is battery compartment heating (with yellow lights). 12:26 That is bleed air and air conditioning panel.

Agreed. It is funny, but I made this video because of how frustrated I was trying to learn how to fly it. I ended up finding a list style manual for an Il62 and was able to decide some of the switches and procedures from that. After so much work it seemed a shame to keep it to myself, so I made this video to share the results. Glad it helped. Happy flying!

I made a fictitious JMSDF livery on this for myself I love flying this plane. Being Japanese, not many show an interest in Russian aircraft. But I do, especially the Su-34, 35, and the Yak-130.

Nice video. I know it's a bit tedious work, but you can edit all the obj files and delete the "ATTR_shiny_ratio" entries. That will remove the glossy effect from the objects. 😉 Keep the videos coming

You can learn a lot about this plane using the IL_76 for FS2004. That one must be the best IL-76 for any sim. Great tutorial...!! Happy New Year (Suscribed)

@@FlightBrothersFT Nothing major I believe. It is a good tutorial overall. BTW. There are two electrical installations there, because one is for DC and the second for AC. I don't think there is any fuel installation modelled in this a/c. You could see how the panel should look like on your non-XP manual, s. 26, drawing (Pnc) nr. 13.

To get a smoother landing you give a second before touchdown a bit of throttle. You doesn't have land this plane with much flare.

Use the arrow keys to move your view left right up and down. The period and comma move in and out. To save a view press down 'ctrl' key and a number on the number pad. Once saved, you simply got that number to go back to that view.

The default keyboard command for doors in Xplane11 is usually to press SHIFT and F1. If there are multiple doors SHIFT F2, etc. I believe the Ilyushin doors open with these default commands.

I really want to fly this plane, but I have a problem with the taxi, the plane will turn very slightly and then it will start sliding even though the gear is turned sideways. How can I correct that ? Running latest version 1.36?

Hmmm. That is not an issue we experienced with this aircraft. Typically when that happens in XP there is either an issue with the aircraft itself (ground friction coefficient I believe it was called) or the rudder/tiller inputs for your joystick have gotten off. When the tiller input is not linked to the rudder it tends to handle exactly as you described. Wheel turns only about 5-10 degrees and throttling up can make it simply skid forwards regardless. Check your joystick setup in XP to check this.

Are you using the 'no KLN' version (on folder label)? If you use the KLN version (the folder has no special label) without have the add-on KLN installed, I believe you will have that issue.

@@Keratsss do you mean linking the tiller (ground nose wheel steering) to the rudder input? In the settings you can link them where you configure joysticks and keyboard commands. If you literally mean to link it to roll (ailerons), I'm not sure that can be done. I'm also not sure it should be done, as you may have issues in crosswinds.

@@adnanaga3749 definitely an imposing aircraft. Soviet designs of the era always have a certain utilitarian ugly about them, and I find the anhedral (downward sloped wings) makes them look like a bird of prey swooping in for the kill.

@@FlightBrothersFT this is funny, because this plane is called Ilysha by Russians, which is a gentle form of the name Ilya. By Russians, it's described as a plane with a kind smile :D Also, its wings and that hump on top - those are assosiated with traps, lats, and deltoids of a buff working bloke. The plane, ofc, is considered as very beautiful by Russians themselves. So in conclusion, this is a very handsome kind, strong, and buff working lad with a wide open smile Yeah, remarkable differencies in perceptions :)
