Been in this game for some time and it still blows me away what these little things can do... and how much further pilots in the future will take them!

Looking forward to more of these... maybe show how this gets incorporated in a track and a "drill." I'm always looking forward to learning more about racing and techniques... somethings I'm looking to see more of are what are some drills that you do, or practice track set-ups to work on specific skills, choosing lines, and pace. Just over all I feel like there is very limited information on the racing aspect especially from a top pilot. One of the most beneficial videos was your video on your channel where you broke down the track, I kept thinking finally! Also what is a average training week look like, how many packs, how do you design a track or are you just working on a specific track. Awesome stuff keep it coming!

Hey Captain - What flight simulator do you use for practice when it's raining? If you have several what's your 1st 2nd and 3rd prefference? PLUS... what are your settings in those SIM(s) so that the rest of us can get an idea of what you feel the simulator quad should fly like compared to real life so we might get the possibility to experience what you do... minus hitting all the gates so skillfully... ha ha. It's just totally AWESOME to watch you fly! Maybe make a Flight Club video about this and add it to your training series? Shout out from Pasadena, Tx. - Thanks Show less

The knife edge entry is pretty reliable once you're comfortable with it - I'm nowhere near as good at that as I am just going in blind and picking out other reference points, but smoother pilots can make that knife edge approach work really well, and make that a 10/10 success rate thing, at the cost of a couple of tenths.

I don't really have the means to set up a qualifier, and my chapter is slacking on races this year. I wanted to compete this year but I feel like I'm severely under practiced. I do have a bundle of multigp gates and flags. Maybe you could show me some fundamentals to practice that I'll run into on a typical gp track. I saw you do a wide slalom with Justin and now this but I know you got a lot more you can show me. I got every day about ten packs but I never set up Gates. Obviously I need to change that. Do you think I need to burn more packs as well?

@@FlightClubFPV That's awesome!! sounds great. I would love a walk-through of learning a new track at a race, eg. If only 1 or 2 practice packs allocated, or 6 packs. Some questions may be: 1. Where are those packs best spent? 2. What alex is looking at, in order to find the best lines (as well as finding mental reference points, etc). I have experienced that by walking the track, sometimes lines that seemed "tight enough" in the goggles, were actually not. Also, watching your own dvr shows you everything you did wrong. 3. "I have practiced specific elements before, but now applying that to the race track", eg. "find the timing for that faster blind move into this track's dive gate". "i am watching for this", "that's a wide but safe line", "This is tight, more risky, but in the finals with nothing to lose, I could make up time with that line." I know a lot of that is just flying for yourself, and getting that "feel" for it with stick time. However, I found I improved tremendously by watching dvr of alex, mck, shaun, etc. Seeing the good lines, how they should be improves that "feel" with far less practice packs. Thank you for these videos guys!! Next I topics I would like: 1. Split-S gate. Fast, head on entry, and off angle entry. 2. hurdles & "slurdles". 3. Gate carousel? (one gate after another forming a turn) Awesome work on the slaloms video, you killed it!! 1. "Break down" of each part is easily consumable.👌 2. Slomo with stick cam is perfect👌 3. "Use mostly roll for slaloms" was the biggest single improvement I made after I heard it, and it clicked after 2 packs on the sticks. Those kind of tips are the "big ideas", briliant👌 Thank you Flight Club and Alex👏

Doesn't look like actual racing camera angle. With more aggressive csmera angle wouldn't you need to enter gates differently?
@FlightClubFPV5 жыл бұрын
camera angle is preference. alex flies at 38 - 40 and he can haul ass
@sseymour19785 жыл бұрын
@@FlightClubFPV of course he is good racer. Probably i will never ride confidently at 40°( in tight spaces as in race track). But having angles close to 90 just makes more sense. More angle equals more forward thrust ( while you still can see something ). Thrust required to get around fast is sooner or later bigger than thrust required to keep airborne.

How about how to set your quad up in bf pids???? That is the biggest thing for me. Bc I have no idea what to set rates or supers or anything like that. I know mostly all pilots dont like to tell..... but you dont have to say yours, just point all of us in the right direction. This would be the only thing holding me back as of now. If it has a set screw on the bottom back it off a little and see if the motor loosens up... And if you are trying to spin a motor in your hand make sure all three motor wires are not touching each other or it will create resistance threw your body which will make it harder to spin.
