I'm new to your channel and enjoy what you are doing very much. I was pretty active in the hobby (glow fuel) in the nineties and early aughts until career intervened but now 'm getting back into it and your range of topics fits great. On the micro fiber clothes, I started using them on my glow planes not long after the 3M clothes started showing up in super markets as "miracle' clorhes. They are great for all purpose use but I found the true miracle was the way they could easily wipe off glow fuel residue if the were first wetted and then wrung almost dry. Truely amazing. My theory is that the microfiber creates a huge amount of surface area for the oil to cling to (like oil film on a pond). I still use them although, like Rip Van Winkle, I've discover a much different RC scene than I experienced in the nineties. Hope to see more of the stuff you are doing especially the "flying with a purpose" instructional thing you are doing

Walter, thank you so much for the feedback. We really appreciate you being here. Where you flying back in the 90's? We were flying all through the 90's as well. What are some of the models you liked flying back in the day? Microfiber towels really have changed things. Jason likes to buy the bulk packs at Costco and he uses them until they get too dirty, then just tosses that one and grabs another. Thanks again. Have a great day and let us know if you wave a video topic you want us to consider.

In the 90s I was in a very small club (long defunct) flying off a grass landfill lot right across the Anacostia River from RFK Stadium in DC. Now I fly at the Hanover County RC club just outside Richmond, Virginia, For all it's problems the old field at least was lined up with the prevailing wind. The new field has a nice 500' mat runway but the geography of the farmer's field we rent leaves us with about a 45+ degree cross wind or worse. Maybe a topic on handling cross winds or the skills needed to not just land but also due aerobatics taking the wind into account might be of interest to some. I'm guessing IMAC skilled pilots at our level are great students of the wind.

I have heard of the Hanover County RC club. If we make it back to Virginia we will have to come visit. We will try to get some videos up about dealing with the wind. Thanks again!

Thank you for doing the video. Very nice aircraft indeed. Wondering why swap out from 120 to 100.? Regards from W.A.🇦🇺

Great question. The 120 was way more power than this plane needs. Also, we needed a little more weight in the nose. The 100 fixes both of these issues. Here is a video of the plane flying with the 120: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epeagZaZapKZb80

Thank you Jason for the 120 to 100 reason and putting up the video of the Decathlon with the 120. Gee you make flying look a breeze. The Decathlon are a beautiful rc model aircraft to look at. I’ll be watching all your videos one by one during the lock down. Take care mate. Cheers from Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺

Would high temp rtv on the bolts do the same?
@FlightReviewz
@FlightReviewz Жыл бұрын
Yes, High Temp RTV does the same thing. I think the Honda Bond looks better and I have had a bit better experience working with it.

Random question??? I recently moved and I'm looking for a place to fly and haven't been able to find anything... Do you have any suggestions for a grass runway or how to make a cheap run way?
@FlightReviewz
@FlightReviewz 4 жыл бұрын
Hey there Travis. There did you move to? The easiest way to make a runway is to rent a skip loader and go to town leveling a strip that is somewhere around 100x600ft. This is assuming you have the room.
