Great video -- looks like you had a great time. My wife and I headed over to the Flinders Ranges last year and I briefly considered doing the SkyTrek but dismissed it as my wife was on a BM R1250R, which was a patently unsuitable combination! We did, however, do the (much!) easier Brachina, Bunyeroo and Parachilna Gorges. As always, the Flinders never fails to please.

Excellent trip. I’m heading to Peterborough in a few weeks. I’m now going to add Hawker and the sky trek into the trip after watching this video Thanks 👍👍👍

Just what I needed on a late Friday afternoon after a hard weeks work and being to the Boxing Factory to clear my head. Beautiful trip and I really love the wide open space. Thanks for sharing the beautiful scenery, sharing beautiful Australia and ofcourse all the info you have to tell. Looking forward to the next part of the trip...

Thanks for taking the time to edit and publish. This is a trip I would like to to go to on my new ATAS DCT but my back, knees and shoulders are saying no. Maybe some ergonomic changes to the bike and more Pilates and physio sessions will help.

Awsome video mate. We did a similar trip in August 23 from Adelaide- Yunta- Willow Springs. The day we did Skytrek my wife, on her CRF250L was suffering a migraine, stacked it in a creek bed and we returned on the same home track without doing the hardest ridge track. We both felt challenged by the day and had a memorable experience. It's incredible country out that way.

Good to hear. Dropping the bike in all those rocks is never fun. But with a migraine as well …. Doubly not fun.

What an Epic trip already mate! I'd love to do the Flinders, that loop track you did would be pretty savage on my poor wee bike - you and the big twin handled it with apparent ease... the suspension must be bloody good on the AT, and good you avoided punctures on all those sharp rocks. What incredibly beautiful, fascinating and varied land! Those old gums by the lunch stop spot were just amazing.
@AfricaTwin-Stuff4 ай бұрын
Thanks mate. Yep. Pretty pleased with the AT suspension. And it’s neat to be able to change the preload and damping with a couple of button presses to cope with road, fast dirt, and slow rocks.

Enjoying your Flinders adventure having visited the area last year (by rail and bus). You are an inspiration to us older folk to take up bike riding and going on the odd trip. I wish I had your confidence! Safe travels Adrian.
@AfricaTwin-Stuff4 ай бұрын
Thanks mate. Sadly it takes a bit of fitness as well as confidence and I’m loosing both as I get older. So glad I’ve done it while I still can.

Congratulations. For me, doing this type of trails used to be terrifying to do alone until I started taking the motor winch with me. Africa Twin dct then is a perfect bike
@AfricaTwin-Stuff3 ай бұрын
Agree. You hope to never use it. But having it makes you a more confident rider. Therefore reducing the chances of having to use it.

Thanks for the video, gonna have to head there on the Africa Twin. Interesting your comments on the traction control kicking in. I find the TC is ok on the minimum setting, but the wheelie control kicks in on anything that looks like an incline. Maybe try turning it off and see how ya go. Good luck!

Great views again Sir. I guess you would have felt quite bad for the bike on that loop if it was done with the NC.

Yes. It would have been an uncomfortable trip on the NC.

Nice vid mate I did the same trip last year even the farm road that goes over the hill - that was harder than I expected also. It's on my channel. Want to go back there next year and do more tracks

Been a fan of your channel for some years now , fab ! Could I ask a favour please , show some Food and drink whilst on your travels ? Even if its a bacon butty washed down with a cup of char (tea) or a beer ? Thankyou from London
@AfricaTwin-Stuff4 ай бұрын
Your request is very relevant. I’ve thought the same when watching others. Sadly, filming is a pain and takes away from the pleasure of riding. So I’m very slack when I don’t show the full travel experience. Consider me smacked on the hand for my poor production.

G’day Adrian, I’ve been wondering how you’re travelling. The A/T is at home in the bush and the DCT sounds like it’s always spot on for every part of the ride, as you mentioned. Looking forward to seeing the next leg towards Marree and beyond. I’ll give Dalmore a rub tomorrow and donate some egg&bacon roll from you. Travel safe mate. Regards GG
@AfricaTwin-Stuff4 ай бұрын
Thanks mate. But no more egg and bacon for Dalmore. A small doggy treat is ok but he has been getting too many unhealthy handouts. So lots of pats and a little treat from now on.

I think you may be onto something Adrian! Watching you ride those crevices, copious heavy breathing and getting your leg over made me think of the lucrative 1970s “Confessions of” film genre. How about The Confessions of a Shed Tinkerer? Happy to split the profits 50/50. Your welcome 🤔
