Nice, Boat looks like a narrow snipe almost like a windmill. Sail looks like a laser size.

Thanks so much for the great tips! Super helpful. When you say you pulled the zip ties to sand the edges flat, do you mean flat in orientation to each other so the edges would fit together more tightly?

Yes, The edges were riding on each other. I pulled it back apart sanded those edges flat so they had a place to butt up against. made a huge difference. it was much better. Thaks for the question and sorry for the delay.

Ross does a very good job at laying out points. I did not have full size plans and did not need them. You simply laminate two sheets of plywood together and use the plywood as a grid. Connect you dots and start cutting. Used shroud wire to draw the lines. Worked reallly well.

12 knots under sail? Wow, thats much more than i thought the design is capable of. How does it handle sailing in a chop? Beautiful boat though.

It handeled terribly as it rolled so fast. I reduced sail back to what Ross specified.

Do the plans call for 3 layers of 6 oz cloth on the hull or just the seams?? She is a beaut!
@Benford187 жыл бұрын
Just the seams. You will add a layer at the seams both inside and outside. Then add a layer encapsulating the hull. Thank you for the nice comment! I have really enjoyed her.

When pieced together, were the paper plans the actual size of the various boat sections, so they could be used as templates to cut the plywood sections?
@Benford182 жыл бұрын
No, I did that because I use this boat in extreme events my son and grandson use it to fish. I knew it woud be abused. She has held up well.

What type of plywood did you use for the hull?

Douglas Fir Marine grade fot the hull. 1/4" DB5 teak for the deck and transom. Sorry for the delay,
