Thanks, Di. Yep it's got a great beat! Knock, Knock. Who's there? Frankfurter. Frankfurter who? Frankfurter memories. (sorry I know it's terrible but I couldn't resist, I got it off the back page of Boys Life many years ago!!

My late wife taught herself Joplin with Joshua Rifkin's records. This hits me kind of hard, Thanks for sharing.

I've had that great Joshua Rifkin album for maybe 20 twenty years...ever need cheered up, that's the ticket.

Love it. IMO one of the greatest songs because every phrase is beautiful and memorable. So many songs have been built off of parts of this song.

I agree, I've noticed that over the years. Thanks for writing!

0:56 I love how you play this part! That tapping on the floor on each 1st and 3rd beat makes me want to tap along with you!

What a treat to hear this!! ❤ There is so much more to this piece than the short version I have heard before. That was really great!! 👏👏👏 Thank you! 😁

Thank you, Rosanne. I think I accidentally uploaded this on my regular ol' channel, and what I'm trying to do is start a new channel just for ragtime. I picked the name, "Flint Long Ragtime," and it said it was up and running, but somehow this is my regular Boogie Woogie channel. Oh well, all my Boogie fans will just have to love Ragtime as well, I guess!

🎵Hi Flint, how wonderful to hear your beautiful playing of this lovely ol' classic Joblin! Just so expressive, love how you "bring out" the left hand in places to accentuate the rhythm, beautiful! I think you've said before that ragtime, stride, blues and boogie are all "cousins" anyway so this suits your regular channel very well. This could be a sort of "advert" for a Flint Long Ragtime channel should you go ahead. I didn't notice any "mistake", a bit of improv is appropriate in this style anyhow. Always enjoy your wonderful videos Flint, thanks so much for posting! 👏👏👏👏🎵

That was wonderful. I couldn’t notice a mistake I was enjoying it so much. In my head I could see the flapper dancers (I think that’s what they were called) from the 1920s dancing around the ballroom.

Thank you, Nancy! Yep, they were called flappers. I'm glad you like this! Thanks!

Um ... this says new channel, but the video seems to be sitting on your old channel. Is there a new channel? (I'm all for education, but I was looking forward to listening to some of your rags, after seeing one on Victor Beck's channel.)
@flintlong29378 ай бұрын
Oh Disney, you're right it's sitting on my old channel, because I'm such a non-techie I couldn't figure out how to set up the new ragtime channel. I thought I had done it right, and my idea was to feature only ragtime on the new channel,, and trust me, I've got about 25 original rags that if you like the one on Victor's channel you will love the others too. (nothing too cutting edge, just traditional sounding old school). But anyway, maybe you could help me. I do know how to go to my studio and change my account to the new one, but when I post it always seems to default back to my regular channel, even though the photo has changed. I spent a good few hours trying to figure it out. I think maybe it gets confused because I have my name in the new Channel's name too. I just have been too busy to confront this frustrating issue all over again. I'm really sorry. I kind of aborted the new channel, and I'm disappointed as are all you guys who are my friends and who want to support my ragtime efforts as well as my boogie woogie efforts. Thanks for you interest in this, thanks for writing and please accept my apology. Also, don't give up on me, because by hook or by crook, I fully intend to get my rags up on youtube.

@@flintlong2937 I hope you can find somebody to help you. I'm afraid I have no idea how to do a second channel ... I just see there are people who have done it. My channel hasn't gotten any new content in close to a decade, now. (And it won't. It was old stuff that I just wanted to share.)
