Your vice is fitted much too far back on your wobbly bench, the fixed jaw should be level with the front edge of the bench, you can then hold long objects, (a barrel or stock), and work on it, I was glad to see you are using a horse to support the stock/barrel! Chris B.

Was the barrel a Rice Barrel? I bought one of theirs and could not remove the breech plug for love or money.

I just subbed to your channel. Always interesting watching people build muzzleloaders. Is your work bench wobbling a bit? I cannt stand work benches that wobble even a hair. Just me. I bet It was the camera wobbling..

There are videos on KZbin about it. It can be difficult as you need to trim the threads until the breach threads tight to the spot where you want it (tang flat on top and flush with the barrel).
