Interesting my buddy said he built that grill 20 years ago for a man named Ellwood whos wife sold it at a garage sale I believe my buddy was still the principle for Weyerhaeuser

When I use my flip flop I'm not getting that distinctive charcoal flavor like I would using a normal charcoal grill. Is there any tricks to the trade or does yours turn out the same?.
