Your lectures just remind of this. In the 1984 film, The Karate Kid, wise old karate master Mr. Miyagi tells Daniel that there is “no such thing as bad student, only bad teacher.” And anyone can learn from you because of the beautiful way you explain.

Do these movements affect the way substances transport through the cell membrane?

How does the phospholipid overcome the energy barrier and do a flip-flop then? what would be the reason for it to happen?
@lpichelk4 жыл бұрын
Lipid flip-flops may spontaneously occur in protein-free phospholipid membranes under physiological conditions through transient water pores

also: • Phospholipid scramblases stimulate bi-directional movement of lipids between the two membrane leaflets; it does not require energy for its action. • ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters use ATP to remove substances out of cells; they are suspected to move also lipids from the cytosolic to the exoplasmic leaflet. • Aminophospholipid translocases (APLTs) selectively pump phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylethanolamine from the outer to the inner plasma membrane leaflet.

In 11th grade biology text they saying that the molecules outside the cell membrane are transported to the inside by the rotation of transport protein. But here we learnt that proteins can't flip flop...why is it like that...?

What I didn't quite get: if cell membranes are so fluid, why is the body so rigid then?

Toxi Core I can't tell if you're being serious or trolling.. My question for you is, why is it that we consist of about 70% water yet look and feel nothing like water. ;-)
