Since the hydrolysis occurs after the substrate has been moved out of the cell and it's being moved against a concentration gradient, I take it the closed state of the ABC transporter stores energy in its conformation?

Is the CFTR also an ABC related transporter?? Or rather, other than the MDR protein what example can I use of an ABC transporter ? For humans

CFTR is very similar to ABC transporters except that it function as a ion channel not as a pump. MDR1 in the plesental mebrane and brain blood barrier is an example of ABC transporters.
