Very nice. If videos are little bit short, then it's easy to watch full video. Good combination.

Hi Connie, thank you so much for the delightful flip. It is such a sweet book. The european squirrels are smaller and more of a reddish brown compared to the american squirrels, who are bigger and darker brown. I don't know if the american ones are the same as the canadian squirrels. I put in a follower request on your IG, so I can send you a picture of a german squirrel I took outside of my window. I live in the city but there is some greenery and trees in between the houses where I live. Btw., I wrote you a comment on your video with the Karat pencils that you can get them on Amazon Germany, I do not know if you saw that. It has been snowing on and off here for a week now and it has gotten real cold. Have a blessed weekend.

I didn't see the comment on the other video about the Karat pencils - so sorry about that! Thank you for commenting here, too - I'll definitely keep Amazon Germany in mind if I need another set. :) I think our Canadian squirrels are much the same as the red squirrels in the more northern parts of the US - they look like this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_red_squirrel#/media/File:American_squirrel_eating_nut,_13_Jun_2013.JPG I just love the little ear tufts on the European squirrels - it must be lovely to see them outside your window. :) I love being outside in the snow and cold but it's always lovely to come back inside to a warm cup of tea and some colouring. :) Hope you're staying warm!

The deer eat the seeds that the birds spill onto the ground so I'm ok with that. :)

And Twilight garden is the english version of the swedish book “Blomstermandala” wich actually is flowermandala in english. And Nightfall is translated from Skymningstimmen wich more like Dusk but I guess nightfall is a more romantic word.

@colouringchemist Жыл бұрын
Thank you again so much! Google Translate had told me that Skymningstimmen translated to "twilight hour" which would also be dusk. :) "Nightfall" does sound romantic, though. :) I wonder if Maria or the publishers choose the translations for the titles? I just like to wonder about things. :)

I have a pigment question. Do colored pencils contain the same kind of pigment as watercolor? Like PR83 is the pigment in Winsor & Newtons professional watercolor Alizarin Crimson. Is it the same pigment in Polychromos pencil Alizarin Crimson (PR83)?
@colouringchemist
@colouringchemist Жыл бұрын
From my understanding, the colour names for coloured pencils don't necessarily mean that the pigment with the same name is used in the pencil - although with the more expensive, artist-grade pencils it may be more likely that pencil colour names are actually referring to at least some of the pigments contained in the pencil core. While professional grade paints will have pigment information given, coloured pencils don't have that info available. For a product line like Polychromos, it's probable that their Alizarin Crimson pencil may contain some PR83 but it also might contain other pigments, as well - we can't know since no pigment information is given out by the company. :)

I have absolutely no desire to colour people either! That's why I have not yet purchased a Maria Trolle or Hanna Karlzon book - though I do love some of their images of animals in the floral and forest scenes. I think I will have to purchase and just be okay with knowing that there will be a fair amount of pictures that I won't colour.

I don’t like anything realistic, people are ok if they are whimsical, & only a few, animals, flowers, whimsical more for my style.

Did you ever hear of the color cubes from Sarah Renee Clark? Not sure if you would be interested or if you would be able to get it shipped to your area but basically it’s a box full of color combinations that you can match up to pencils & get out of your comfort zone. I’m a graphic designer but still sometimes get stuck and don’t use unique color palette at times, you kind of get into a rut of sorts & don’t explore, anyway they are on my wish list. They are way better than my explanation.

@sereneinthetrees That's how I look at it, too - I'll just colour the ones I like and leave the rest. :) Thanks for stopping by!

@nedanashu5025 I have the colour cubes - I need to pull them out and use them more! :) I tend to use the same combinations over and over again because I'm familiar with them and they're "comfortable". :) For one of my November finished pictures, though, I copied a colour combination from the cover of the book and it was certainly a palette I would never have chosen myself - it was a good exercise for me! :)

Stjärnfall = shooting star. Stj is pronounced almost like sh in shooting star. Or if you know German it’s like ch in Ich (I or me in english). Trolle is pronounced T R O L L E…you say the e too but it sounds like “eh” instead of e. 😊

Thank you so very much!! I had thought that Maria's last name should have the "e" pronounced at the end but I wasn't sure how much "sound" to give it - if that makes sense. :) The emphasis would be on the first part, right? Like "TROLL-eh" instead of "Troll-EH"? And thank you for for the tip on pronouncing Stjärnfall - I'll keep practising saying it to see if I can get it right. :)

I think your Swedish pronunciation is better than my English. I’m impressed. But somehow I thought you like to know since you like details. I can spend days on gathering information- to understand something. And yes emphas on the first part of the word Trolle. When I speak English and try to say cheap I pronounce it sheep. 😂 and my z always sounds like s.

@@dubbeljapp I do enjoy learning and knowing so thank you so much for your comment! :) My mother's side of my family is originally from Sweden and I do remember hearing some of the older people speaking Swedish so maybe the "sound" of it was imprinted on my brain. :) And I'm sure your English is fine! I'm always so very impressed by folks in Europe - the vast majority of you speak your own language plus English (and possibly a few more! :))
