the app, which is available on both android and ios, with bluetooth allows you to control the flipper device within range remotely, transfer various files to and from the device… like sub ghz files you can transmit via the app or bad usb scripts, do ota firmware updates without a computer - amazing considering how limited onboard memory storage is, edit and update text files remotely, and overall file management. so, it’s more than just connecting to an app. it’s stuff you can configure on the flipper while on the go without having access to a computer.

Sounds like a good tool to figure out which devices are totally insecure. If you can clone the functionality with this tool, then the original has inadequate security and if it controls anything important (like your garage door or your car), you should get that replaced asap (or you can just completely stop locking it as any bad guy could use a device like this to eavesdrop when you open it and replay later on to get access himself)! A secure mechanism does not allow for such replay attacks and then will also not work with this tool.

This is actually really interesting for various devices I have... I was a home theater installer and wound up with a lot of Monster Z-wave switches and dimmers but just one remote... A device like this should have no problem integrating itself into that system which would be kinda helpful at various times, plus all the other things it can do. Definitely on my wishlist.

Great introduction! I had some confusion about what different firmwares can do. My flipper with WiFi board is in the mail and the first thing I want to do is to develop a 3D-printable case for the Wifi, that has the contour of the flipper and pins protected by some kind of spring load cover that pops back, when you remove it from the Flipper. VHS style.

This is a sick video. I've read about the flipper zero a few times and if I had a little more time I'd be all over messing with it.
