A bad buyer in my eyes is one who lies to avoid having to pay for a return label.

I have a bad buyer right now dealing with a delivery issue. Ten days after a pair of jeans were delivered according to tracking detail they open an item not received case. I responded to the eBay case with tracking showing item was delivered and told buyer that he needed to visit his post office and see if they could provide more information as to delivery. They immediately left me a negative feedback. They said it was not right to make them do all of the work to find his package. I decided to open up a USPS case and the post office called me on a Sunday and said the package would be delivered on Monday. I messaged the buyer back with the news. Monday night and again on Tuesday I messaged the buyer to confirm the item was delivered. No response. I know that eBay will close the case in few days in my favor because they go by the tracking. I hope then eBay will remove negative feedback. Buyer is blocked now.

There are indeed bad buyers out there. 'Just had one Monday. Buyer's mailing address was declared incomplete by USPS. When asked for complete address, the buyer left negative feedback, accusing me of lying and trying to stall the shipment of their item. As an added bonus, they implied that they were experiencing difficulty in receiving a refund, even though i cancelled the order and issued a full refund to the buyer promptly after reading the response to my simple query. Buyer has been blocked.

A bad buyer is someone who lies and opens false returns/claims before reaching out to me, and has a bossy/rude/entitled attitude - a negative feedback would be the icing on the cake. I block anyone who doesn't read my description or simply asks too much. I have no time over for lazy idi*ts (who usually end up causing problems), there are enough GOOD SILENT buyers anyway. Well thats some of it that works the best for me in the long run. If you are too soft on people, they will realize you are weak and that they can dominate you - and you will end up with so many returns, claims and & negative feedbacks.

@@Jayden1766-b7o oh boy I got a story to tell. Sold a lcd tv, ship the item. The moment the item reach to the buyer, the buyer went on tandem. He complained saying that he a 75 year old man and he can't carry a heavy tv, that will return the item back, want a refund and another TV with that, dispute I literally write it down the on description that it was a oversize tv. There pictures of the tv. I don't know how he miss that but ok, no problem, return the item and refunded his money. Keep in mind this is a no-return/no refund item. He shipped the items back but his local post office was having problems of their and it going to be a delay on the delivery, ok no, it outside of my control, there nothing I can do about, besides refund take 3 business day to return back to the buyer. That when the bullshit begin. He wanted his refund now, he talking hot garbage to me, being rude for no reason. 2 day pass and I ask him to go back to his post office because in the app it still saying delay on shipping, this dumbass took it the wrong way, he said wtf and am going to give a bad feedback about me talking to post office. What? He acting like am acting to perfect a script, no, just ask them what going with the shipping, that it. It didn't have to be complex. The next day, post office problem was fix but I received and email saying the refund didn't went through, how? I don't know, that usually never happen, so I refunded again; error. I thought I didn't had the fund for a refund or There was something wrong with my card. No, I later find out he requested a claim from ebay because he thought I was Scammer like bro what! Because of his dumbass, Ebay place the refund on hold until the case is close. Now I have to wait 3-5 business day for the case to be close while he still complain, bitching, talking hot garbage about how am a scammer, am a hot mess, stop playing around and give me back my refund like the buyer didn't started this mess in the first place. 😑 I decided to call ebay(after he claim he called ebay before hand but that a lie) and they told me they can't do nothing about the refund unless the buyer close the case. They give me advice on how to approach the buyer, be nice to them, claiming explain the situation and what the buyer can do to help the problem. Good advice, didn't work. The buyer was acting a bigger fool than I thought, now he validation of the refund. BRO WTF FUCK!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN!!? I was getting tire of his BS, I talk back saying we in this mess because of you, he told me Am fucking refund and then gave me step by step on how to do the validation, which by the way that shit doesn't exist, told me am a hot mess(again). At the end, the conversation become an argument, the situation went from bad to worse that Ebay had to step in and did a full refund on item. I still got that bad feedback that he left 🤣

For me the bad buyers are the ones who either don't read the listing and then immediately start going off when they receive the item, or the ones that mess up their shipping address and then go off on me when the item is RTS or misdelivered. I think some of my buyers have been getting the same error as you with the addresses because I've had a huge increase in items returned to sender for wrong address. Some of them have been reasonable but a lot just want to immediately blame me. One of them on ebay immediately left a negative when he saw the package was getting returned from his old apartment, opened an INR and started yelling at me. Another buyer on Depop told me I was the worst seller she ever dealt with because I wanted to wait to get the item back before refunding her and she wanted an immediate refund. About blocking people who open a return, I stand by my decision to do this. Once I forgot to block a buyer who returned an item. And a week later they were back sending me offers trying to buy the same item again that they had already returned once.

I'm probably in the minority, but I think a lot of our (seller) frustrations with buyers cab be laid at the feet of the EBAY mothership, There comes a time when there is too much information (item specifics) that can be overwhelming to some buyers, new buyers especially. When a seller spends all the time to make a good listing, loaded with all the specifics, and still gets questions from buyers, the seller is already on a hair trigger. Other selling sites don't have bloated listings like EBAY.
@marcsmirnoff936Күн бұрын
I don't understand why eBay's "bloated listings" (great term,) are so infrequently discussed. I'm grateful for eBay but listing on eBay is a major time-waster & some of the categories that sellers are required to fill out are confusing, redundant, contradictory, & utterly irrelevant. You'd think that a company that wanted to make money would make it a snap for sellers to list rather than slo-mo drudgery. More than an inconvenience, "bloated listings" are bad business.

This video is thought provoking. Overall, people are so angry, these days. We have to think about what part we play. Are we joining the angry mob or are we making an effort at empathy. You are so right that we never know what someone’s going through. Life is hard. There will always be scammers, but we know this business and most buyers do not. We cannot expect everyone to understand how things work. It’s okay to answer innocent questions, even when the info is in the ad. Let’s err on the side of kindness and good customer service.

Glad to see you look at this issue from another viewpoint. Some of the questions from buyers are a result of the eBay formatting, especially on the app. They may never see your description. they should find the link and look but eBay makes it difficult. I do some sourcing on eBay if I can find a good deal. Often sellers do not know the details of their items and leave out critical details in their listings. Then questions are appropriate. I have had one seller block me. I am not sure why - probably they didn't like that I asked questions. As a consequence there were several items I would have purchased later from them that I could not. Their loss. Would you rather answer questions or deal with an INAD? If a seller does not know about the important details of an item and misrepresents, or leaves off key details, and INAD is possible.
