I have had a swapper get their account suspended. I don't know how many times it happened before eBay took action but they did have a history of it. eBay told me all about it

as a buyer and a seller i can say the usps is horrible. and they don't do anything to correct their problems. about 15 years of ebay and the usps delivers about 65% of all packages I've sent out or was supposed to receive.
@FlippinAintEasy14 сағат бұрын
@@danpenner79 that’s much lower than what I’m seeing with about 1500 USPS packages sent last year and only a handful of item not received cases.

I did have this happen once. In that case, it was a new item and I got back a very used one with a slightly different design. It was only about $30 and eBay returned the money to get it over with and the buyer's account was killed (although I don't know if it was because of me or something else).

eBay rules are if the item is not as listed they are to get a full refund including shipping cost. So you're better off to start a claim and show your real photos and show what they return to you. Then call up eBay as well.

We had one scammer thet was buying rare music cds and we guess to copy them them popping them into the microwave for a few seconds then making claims that it arrived that way. According to their feedback left for sellers they had been doing this for years and ebay just lets them do it.

Not to worry the debt is only $37 Trillion now. What's another 12 cents? Besides I have maybe 10-15 years to go and will be long gone before the zombies roam the cities. I planned ahead, no kids. Seriously at this point I really do not care anymore that people in Colorado are getting hosed, good for them. You voted for it enjoy it. I am much more interested in NOT paying eBay any advertising fees beyond what they already suck off me and the store fee. Having 85% less sales is fine. I am not paying 5-15% for extortion ads. Not accepting low ball offers and not sending those silly offers nobody responds to anymore either. Not interested in running fake sales. Listing fair items a s Very Good and hiding when they want a refund. I will treat ebay for what it is, a way to pay the electric bill.

ebay charging a fee for collecting and remitting sales tax is really just a money transfer fee and to charge any more than a standard 3%-3.5% is criminal and should be outlawed.

Dude it’s ALL on line sales NOT just eBay and if you’re so concerned about it you can block buyers in those states. Also you should be writing of those fee’s on your taxes at the end of the year anyways so who cares but I guess you have to make content
@jeffu.80532 күн бұрын
The only two states you can specifically block on Ebay are Alaska and Hawaii due to higher shipping costs. You can't randomly select states you don't want to ship to.

My county in NY (Suffolk) just approved a 0.125% sales tax increase to fund water clean up, which raises us to 8.75% starting in March. That's 12.5 cents per hundred dollars. Doesn't seem like much, but our county population is bigger than about 12 states, so a LOT of merch is being shipped here every day. A tax by any other name is still a tax, and ebay will be charging their fees on top.

As for the outro. Something I should have touched on in the video itself but I will put it here. Currently it is only 2 states that are doing this, Minnesota and Colorado. This is an additional revenue source for their states and other states could follow suit over time to various degrees and when that happens we will see it more often. The point in making this video was not to gripe or complain about a few cents, but to just create awareness so you know what these charges are when you see them.
@ryanglaser53362 күн бұрын
It's not a big deal; however, ebay should have a checkbox in order to pass this inflationary type of extra cost on top the buyer.
@sdillon46052 күн бұрын
when I first saw this tax I had to add a column on my spread sheet,. looked in to this and Tim Walz is the Governor of Minnesota he signed this into law there... this is so wrong. This costs us more than the fees on the extra tax too because we have to lower prices to absorb the difference in order to compete with prices. Actually any tax is really being paid buy sellers due to this because buyers only pay what they think something is worth. Another point on this is that I'm actually pretty sure that eBay doesn't charge buyers fees on foreign VAT taxes they shouldn't charge us fees on these ridiculous delivery taxes imposed by these Leftist States either... I hate taxes we are taxed way too much. Im going to listen to Rich Men North of Richmond now.

Interesting, I'd no idea and I try keep up eCommerce and economic news. I mean the last 24 hours Big Lots which was going under apparently wont be and Joann Fabrics filed for bankruptcy once again. Thanks for the situational awareness Jon. Live streams are fun but they tend to drift. Informational content is more "Sticky" if you will and its why I watch Commonwealth as like you Kevin's always thinking. Even if what's being talked about isn't really relevant to my selling as its just an aside per se, I'm not full bore I like hearing from people who think. I've always been fascinated by eCommerce, commerce, history and more.

I still hate the fact that you as a seller gets charged a 1.65% international fee (product price plus shipping price) if a buyer is based in another country but has a USA shipping address. I think the buyer should have to pay that stupid fee. There is no way to opt out of that one either so I put disclaimers on my higher dollar ads that require the buyer wait for an invoice with that fee included or don't buy the thing.
@ThrifterGuy2 күн бұрын
I'm in Canada and every time I send a package to the U.S which is most of them Ebay charges me an International fee. It usually works out to around a 3rd of my top rated discount. But in the plus side a Canadian I can in Canada with no duty charges and up to 800 Canadian to the U.S with no import fees. So I guess that evens it out.
