Scuffing the panels with a scotch-brite pad or 320 sandpaper before applying the clear will result in a MUCH glossier end result.

Yes but the patina on this truck was so rough it was ripping the scuff pad

@@FlippinCustomized If you want to make that REALLY shine now that you've already got the clear on it, carefully sand it to 600 grit and then wipe on a final layer. That's like doing a "flow coat". If you can feel the roughness of the surface before you apply the clear, it will be dull. But 600 to 800 grit will give you the shine you wanted. It takes a little experimentation if you're not a regular auto body worker, but you can definitely do it. And if you feel REALLY froggy, you can have someone show you how to wet sand the final coat with 1500 grit wet, and then use a cutting compound and a buffer to get a glass finish!

I've been painting drum shells with rustoleum gloss coats with appropriate dry times between them. When I apply the clear coat using spray max 2k clear glamour, I get that wrinkling in random spots. Other times I've no problems at all. Very careful to apply light first layer to flash then wet coats. Any help Scott?
@FlippinCustomized Жыл бұрын
Man I have had that happen too with clear, have to be very light first coat, but honestly probably a better question for a body shop, I will be spraying clear this weekend to 😳

@Flippin Customized came across your video 1st time today. The paint reaction caught my attention Pronto. I have been running through instructional/ tutorials trying to find answers. Never get what I need to learn just a whole bunch of what I don't. I enjoyed and identify with your method madness and honesty about how things don't always go right. Rock on... I'll be watching and learning.
