Pretty good methods. A good heavy sledge hammer is good as you don't need to use massive hard swings with it as the weight of the hammer head does the majority of the work. I like PB blaster for penetrating oil myself, use some heat from a blow torch first, and then spray some PB in/on whatever you need to loosen and then go in with whatever prying or hammer and metal on metal parts will typically be persuaded. It's a really good trick with stuck rusty bolts tool.

I use dot 4 brake fluid for hard to pull or jammed nut

Wow its wild i just came across this. I tried similar ideas. I even tried blocking the trailer tires and activating the parking brake, hooking it up to my truck and bumping it out.. didn't work. Couldn't find my sledgehammer.. looks like i need to keep looking for my hammer or get a new one! Thanks

Did it help any?

I just turned one over on a M200A1 ... half a can of Kroil, 2 days of beating on it, some heat from just a propane torch ... but it finally came loose. The wedges trick was useless, a jack pushing on it was useless ... I don’t think you have to hit it real hard but enough to eventually jiggle it free ... then it came right out. Wasn’t terribly rusty on the tapered shaft. Flipping it lowered the eye about 4.5 inches.

Awesome, I always find it is best to just wail on it first instead of dickin around with other methods.

I love my adjustable hitch
@SmokeyJa6 жыл бұрын
Yea their nice until they run out of adjustment . I’ve had to custom make my adjustable hitch to reach the point where this trailer is level. It fits behind my box truck just fine which is why I don’t want to lower it anymore .

Idk if anyone will see this but I think I'm screwed... I've broken both sides of the pin. Tried drilling it out have broken 2 drill bits in the top side. It's probably never coming off of there I'm about to give up its been 2 days of beating on it I've even broken a pipe wrench on it.

the pipe wrench is a RIGID brand, dunno why he censored it, might be a japanese one...
@SmokeyJa5 жыл бұрын
It is a US made RIGID pipe wrench. The brand is no concern to me I censored the engraved name that is on the side.
@johndowe70035 жыл бұрын
@@SmokeyJa yeah, didnt know about the engraved name. i worked in the oilfield and those wrenches were used a LOT lol. i could spot em a mile away.

john dowe no worries. I had to go back and watch it because I didn’t remember either . I know in an age of technology people can probably figure out whatever they want but I try not to be too blatant . And I don’t like Chinese or cheap tools! If I can buy USA made I will!
@johndowe70035 жыл бұрын
@@SmokeyJa same here, i buy the best tools i can afford, except snapon cause its a ripoff, but other name brands are great such as dewalt, milwaukee, makitia, etc. its better to buy one and cry once, instead of buying multiple cheap tools cause they keep breaking. i might be doing this shackle flip on my m105a2 but i think im just gonna build a receiver for it instead. Any updates on the trailer? i wanted to get one like youres so i could make it into a fatbed for my deuce and a half but i couldnt get one so i settled for the m105
@SmokeyJa5 жыл бұрын
john dowe I do the same. I don’t buy snap on either. I was going to make a hitch to hook up to the Ring on this one but I may just build a lower receiver as well . I’m putting a Miller Big40 and a IR air compressor on it so I’d like it to be pretty easy to hook to and drive off with my truck.
