This is a great example of how flipping the classroom does not mean a replacement of the teacher with videos. On the contrary, the teacher presence becomes ever more important in reinforcing and practicing the teachable/learnable concepts. Katie's lesson videos and photos illustrate this well. A great video for teachers who have been fearful of the flipped concept as well as those who are on the verge of trying it out.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this process!!! I actually started tearing up when the student began teaching her lesson! HOW POWERFUL will it be for the students making their OWN videos to go along with the teacher's set! I'M SO EXCITED!!!

I just took an iPad course for education. Since then I am reevaluating my teaching methods. This video is extremely useful and motivating. I will be trying to flip my class from this academic year. Raj

I would love to try this......but how can you flip your classroom if you are working with such a low SES school district that only 10% of your students have access to the internet, let alone a computer?

I agree completely! Wouldn't it be great if HIGH quality interactive entertainment for our major subjects was created to go along with these engaging videos? I don't want hundreds of video games, but a few,well made, making the most common subjects (biology, algebra, history, ect.) could be created once and be used for years. I refuse to use the term serious game, because by and large "serious games" are low quality, low interest, boring creations not much different from our old lecture systems.

I loved your videos but I have to take issue with "large classes" and it's the way it is. We should be fighting for smaller classes and more teachers. 37 per class should not be acceptable. What's to say your admins say hey you can do that with 37 why not with 100, why not 1000? Which would be great for them for saving money and cutting teachers and devastating for students.
