My best advice is to spend your GP: it ain't increasing your xp/hr or dps by sitting in the bank. Use potions, buy upgrades, don't worry about dying, etc. Good advice in this video for sure and I think 'spend yer gold" plays into most of the points you make.

The hunter's sunlight crossbow is what I recommend for Zulrah learners. It's stronger than the MSB(i) and sunlight bolts are equal to amethyst arrows while moonlight are equal to dragon! Getting it on an iron is easy and you can still hold a crystal shield which is fantastic

Yeah i was shocked. I never thought to apply it to some tasks cause I proffered to range them, but probably will now. To say whip is better is like criminal. Fang has exceptional accuracy ime, and I almost always hit 10s or better on the mid level creeps I get for slayer.

Fun Fact: You don't need to *complete* Perilous Moons, just get to the stage where you're asked to go fight them. The Nagua will start spawning at that point. You can't trade in Essence for Runecraft XP, but it's a great stepping stone towards getting the combats to actually DO the moons.

Another thing with moth mix, if you use them at vyres. It makes ur redemptions really cheap instead of brining food. If u want u can either bring ancient or zamorak brews but its less prayer points

The Fang is good for slayer, but even better is the Ursine Chainmace. It's a wilderness weapon, but it feels like it's from a private server. It's so unbelievably strong that the second you unlock it, it's the best item almost everywhere. The only time you wouldn't bring it is against low defence monsters to save ether cost.

SOME TIPS FOR SULPHUR NAGUAS: The Ectoplasmator from LMS will give you 20 prayer XP per nagua kill The Sulphur Blades and Glacial Temotli are great double-hit weapons for killing them The Iron Ore, Coal, Chaos and Death Rune drops are decent money if you care to pick them up (maybe like 300k gp/hr). I did not know you previously had the take of "fang isnt good for dps". Before halberd came out, fang was baisically bis until you could afford salad blade/rapier/mace against anything with any defense. Even against 0 def enemies, it's barely lower than whip dps. It's my first reccomendation for a melee all-around midgame melee weapon upgrade for newer players. Edit: Also as a side note, since fang is 5-tick with higher stats, it scales a bit less off of other str gear like bandos armor than a 4-tick weapon, which makes it perfect to use with prayer gear for slayer.

Yeah I bought a fang and barely touched whip since. Only really for slash needs. Did upgrade it to a tentacle as I won't use it too much anymore. Plus I can train strength aswell. But for dragon tasks, and many others with even a little defence it's amazing compared to whips especially for its cost

@@jake8748 Yeah, literally the only.places i used whip in the past 2ish years since I got a fang was hespori and vardovis after fang nerf. Whips not bad, but for it's price tag, fang is coin for coin the best all-around mid game melee dps upgrade. It's baisically in the top-3 reccomended melee weapons for like 80+% of enemies in the game

You forgot to mention that the hunter's sunlight crossbow is nearly as good as Karil's, and becomes equal/better than Karil's if you use a blue d'hide shield or better in your offhand. The sunlight antler bolts are equal to bolt racks, with moonlight antler bolts being better than bolt racks. It gives irons a pretty decent choice between skilling more for guaranteed combat equipment, or gambling bossing for it. It also just makes a good midgame ranged option super accessible for mains.

That tip about the fang is absolutely true, everybody recommends any other stupid 4tick weapon, HOWEVER, you look at your xp/hr with the fang, is always around 75 - 95k xp/hr, 75 if no piety, 95 with piety. HOWEVER, you use any other weapon, you're not getting above 70k anytime close.

The Hunters' Sunlight Crossbow is so good it's made me question the accuracy of the DPS calc. At Muspah, it does more DPS than the ACB with dragon diamond bolts (e). At Tormented Demons, it does more DPS than the blowpipe with amethyst darts (when the shield is up and you aren't guaranteed to hit). For reference, I'm 92 range, have rigour, use divines, and have a decent ranged kit. Is it worth it to bring for both of those encounters? Maybe not. Especially with Muspah because you need sapphire bolt procs. But I bet it has more uses than realized for anyone who doesn't have the bowfa/zcb/tbow

i have more dps with blowpipe in tormented demons. I didn't need a dps calculator to figure it out, it was quite noticeable (changes prayer faster). i have 90 range, rigour, regular range potions. amulet of fury. Blowpipe with amethyst darts, sunlight hunters crossbows with moonlight bolts and dragonfire ward.

@@hectorguevara4188 As soon as you enter the 100% damage phase of the shield, the blowpipe has better DPS simply because you cannot hit a 0. Before that point, the crossbow is better. However it's not really worth it to bring the crossbow to switch mid-phase. Fwiw, I calced it with my twisted buckler/anguish, but it shouldn't make a huge difference.

I have done numerous tests with the fang it's ALWAYS out DPSed the whip. I go by average time to kill. Gargoyles for example the fang is approx 7 seconds faster per kill

Sulphur naguas in high prayer gear with sulphur blades, piety, and protect from melee is as good as if not better than full blood moon in my experience. 3-5 minutes afk 100k+ xp/hr at ~80 combat stats

If doing a long grind on them take a butterfly net if 80 hunter and you can catch a moth every minute or 2 and basically negate the need to spend time remaking potions as the moths are right beside you. At 85 don't even need the net anymore. I pick up all the ores and stuff plus gem bag and you can make a decent chunk of cash for a basically afk sand crab type levelling.

Are divines really worth it when the preserve prayer exists? For example, when I kill Zulrah I bring 1 regular ranging pot and sip a super defense before I leave. With preserve on, the potion lasts me like 8+ kills at 109+ ranged. Whenever my ranged is 108-109 I super another regular ranging pot and the 1 (4) dose lasts the entire trip. Divines are expensive! I can see having it be worth at some bossing content but don't forget as well it hurts you, and if you're on brews it gets totally wasted. I actually think there is very few content where divines are a must to be honest.

problem with that is then all future xp gain feels wasted. Like if you want to unlock slayer stuff you gotta grind it to 95+ and rushing max combats before starting slayer is slower than doing both at same time, by a LOT. Even doing bossing, depending on the boss, you rack up some serious xp overtime. I'd say aim for lv 94 combat skills as that's most of the way there but still leaves heaps of room to gain xp. 94 gets you another bonus level on super combat pots, and for magic its ice barrage level, so its a good point to aim for.
