Really enjoying the podcast, and happy to see that you had on Gabby Windey on. So if the next podcast is Becca Tilley from Bachelor Nation who came out officially in 2022 as having been in a 4 year relationship with Hayley Kiyoko. Could you ask her about how she felt when Kristian and Demi Burnett on Season 6 (2019) of Bachelor in Paradise were touted as being the first LGBTQ couple in Bachelor Nation, when we now know the Becca and Hayley had been in a relationship, that was private but not secret for at least 18 months before Demi and Kristian were public in Bachelor Nation. According to Jasmine Goode interview on Made It Out podcast , she said Bachelor Season 21 (2017) there were at least 1 other openly bi-women on her season. It just seems like there have been multiple LGBTQ participants in the Bachelor nation, but few that are promoted as such during their seasons. Keep up the great work Shannon.

Shannon, i enjoy the podcast and listen every week but there’s some kinda problematic stuff this week! The bi erasure! The idea that only guys can take your virginity?? I know some of it is “jokes” and your own opinions but I think a podcast about queer relationships and sex should be a bit more thoughtful on these topics. There’s also some misinformation about queer family building (coming from a queer parent whose been through fertility process). Also - would love to see more than white cis lesbians (loved the ep with Nicole). I think hearing more broad perspectives and experiences would push you as an interviewer and make the podcast more representative of queer experiences.
@owesome28 ай бұрын
Why is this bi erasure? I can’t get an answer. I am genuinely confused
@KayBassie8 ай бұрын
@55:10 Were human beings. We are meant to be different from each other. Why would everyone have the same identity in a 'perfect world'? Everybody doesn't have to be pansexual if society was different. Some people are straight. Some people are gay. Some people are in between/fluid. Why does this always come up when talking to fluid people? Picturing this 'perfect society'. I knew I was gay since 11 years and society made me date boys through intense homophobia I was raised around. Then I had to fight so hard against that to accept myself from the inside and who I really was. I enjoyed this convo but when it got to that topic I was like OMG🙄 If I was on a deserted island with no culture/bigotry/societal expectations etc I would be gay the same way. I would just be living that life earlier. jeez louise I think what Shannon really means is more people would have the freedom to be their true self. I love this podcast😊 and on the intros, yeah Shannon I guess you can look at your Analytics to see if the majority of people skip ahead, then you can adjust how long/short your intros should be.

You need to buy some extra comfy chairs for your podcast.. also didnt like how she said we lesbians dont have sex.. we definitely have sex, mind blowing, intense, passionate, so incredibly in tune and feeding off eachothers energy, incredible chemistry, emotional, physical, soul connected sex, thst doesnt end like day long, weekend long sexcapades, where you may take a few breaks but cant stop touching and reconnecting, where you lose count of orgasms. And no thats not just new love, even year 8 of our second round together (meaning we were together for years in secret as teens, split then reunited ten years later over fb & instantly fell back in love) we cant keep our hands off eachother still. And we both have extremely high sex drives so... also scissoring is definitely a thing, or tribbing though i hate that word but yeah, just gotta find the proper angle and its bliss and incredibly intimate like the missionary position for women!

I think her girlfriend, Robby, would be a "hoot" to have on the show as well, she's hilarious. "Do you have a queer friend group?" Me, talking to my laptop: no, so, y'all taking applications or what? Asking for a friend, it's me, your friend from the future. 😜

Have a guest or a guest couple who did queer conception! Things like IUI, IVF, or at home insemination. That would be kewl to hear about!
@bmo13177 ай бұрын
*You definitely don't have to do IVF! And if you're regular and fertile, IUI works fairly often! Same chances of IVF (or even hetero sex!). Also, much cheaper option and less invasive than IVF. Most insurance makes you start with IUI unless you're beyond a certain age. Just adding some context from someone who's been theough it!*

The only thing that bothers me about the podcast is the fact that you had toxic relationships with men. However, as a bi girl, I believe there are great intelligent, sensitive men who will care about you in every way, equally as a woman would do. I do have open communication in sex with men. Also, codependency is not a lesbian thing; it's toxic. You are not connecting with men because you are lesbians or didn't like the guy. As a bi girl, I can affirm that love and sex feels exactly the same. Please stop talking about experiences you haven't had in a wrong way. I feel like it feeds biphobia and misogyny. Despite a lot of men (and women) being shitty, there are great people out there regardless of their sexuality.

Love the topic of queer friendship. I need a full episode on that, please! Does anyone have tips on how to build a lesbian friend group? I have my gf, I have gay men as friends and I have straight friend but I don't manage to make friends with other wlw. There aren't any lesbian spaces where I live, even though it's a big city. It's all either gay places focused on men or straight spaces. And the saying, once you meet one lesbian, you meet plenty also doesn't hold true. Would appreciate any recommendations 😊

Start a lesbian place! Whatever your interests are, make it lesbian 😉 Lesbian hiking group Lesbian book club Lesbian brunch club ... Just promote it via WhatsApp / Insta / a facebook group If it's a big city, other queer women will be looking for a space like that!
