I don't think so though, despite the title and the theme and even some of the lyrics I could also see relating to the show, there's no direct assertion yet saying it is related that I know of. This song really tackles a lot of thing iv been dealing with lately in my life, thoughts of time moving by to quickly, being focused on whats been given vs what you have earned, the constant feeling of being in over your head, and rap it all up with that feeling of being o so tired of constantly treading water, it could just be me but i feel as though he is writing this to his mother that has already passed. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a song lyric with a more potent and crushing sense of sorrow behind it than “Dear Mother, I’m Tired”. Like for real I’m fine for the majority of the song- it’s lovely, it’s psychedelicy, it gets groovy through the second verse!- but when that final super reverby guitar riff (at 2:30) starts playing I’m fighting back tears. Never once felt such a devastating emotion channeled through music before, it is incomparably beautiful.

I remember finding this song on accident almost a year ago now. I was looking for a separate song which was coincidentally also called space cowboy. I had accidentally downloaded this version instead and didn’t even realize. Several months later I was scrolling through my library looking for songs to add to me and my friends playlist we made together and I saw the album cover. I didn’t even remember adding it cause it had been so long but me and my friend sat in silence and listened to the whole thing. Truly a beautiful song with an incredible ending and poetic verse. I thank God that I was lucky enough to hear such a song on accident.

15th Nov. Two more days and I turn 20. This song keeps me grounded and tethered to the world, to space.
