I just got mine in Black G10. I like the heft and feel better than the BenchMade Bushcraft and doesn't have the weird ass embelishment angles in the handle. It's all well rounded edges. Seem to be a no bullshit, right on design with decent enough steel. I'm really happy with what I got.
@airiksknifereviews954810 ай бұрын
Agreed , the Benchmade Bushcrafter is a waste of money. The only thing I wish is that the flissa had some palm swell but adding new scales or liners will be an easy fix.

"Channel's so tiny" - but has some really great videos! 👍🏻 In fact, it's because of your review of the trivittata that I finally put that knife on my list! And that's saying something, because I've had some issues with Condor in the past... I know there's different thoughts out there about Chinese knives. My 'real life' experience has demonstrated to me not to give them one cent that I don't need to. YMMV, but that's where I've drawn my line... But I've no beef with anyone if they do otherwise - we all just follow what we know. 🤷🏼♂️ Great review.
@airiksknifereviews954811 ай бұрын
That's awesome, Condor probably seen a small jump in Trivitatta sales this month ...😄 Their sales department will be confused as to why cause that video has lots of views. It was my first purchase from them in years , I'll most likely get another knife from cause of it. I'm looking at that nee Aqualore in 14C28N steel. The Bushlore in 1075 is why I stopped buying their stuff back in the day. Totally get it ,the China thing is really scary, especially considering almost all of our medications are made through China. Thanks for the kind words 🙏

I have the smaller black flat grind with plastic sheath. The edge bevel needed a little thinning and sheath mod to hold the blade in better. It's a keeper though. So is this one. I pay no attention to China blade comments. Politics aside, they have learned the art of knife making just fine. Better than some others.
@airiksknifereviews9548 Жыл бұрын
I feel the same way.. I'm not big on those total rip-off clones, though ,but this flissa brand seems to have their own style. This blade is strangely familiar yet not , I can see styles like the handle looking like a Becker, but it's not a rip-off. I think I might look into getting something else from Flissa down the road. I also have a couple of blades from that brand, Watchman/Brother Blades. Now those come close to being ripoffs, BUT the branding and style is still enough to not bother me . They both are slight copies of Esee knives. They're actually very nice knives with stainless steel and at a fair price. Thanks for the comment 👍

Why does it have that extra lanyard hole on the upper part of the scales?? Never seen that before!
@airiksknifereviews95485 ай бұрын
@davidglazener7921 it's to run a lanyard from the back to front that puts pressure on the back of your hand . I think it's totally not needed . I'll eventually rehandle mine with curly birch and liners. I don't baton to big of stuff myself so should be fine. Honestly this blade is cheaper for me than buying blanks . The edge is dialed in so good, it's better than most my spendy blades.

@airiksknifereviews95484 ай бұрын
@rollypollyguy3976 Yep, I rehandled this one and another one on separate videos. I like them enough to upgrade um. It's basically a $20 D2 blank in my eyes , best deal for projects I have ever seen. A blade blank of this quality will usually run around $70 . It's hard to find D2 scandi blanks anymore cause makers have a hard time heat treating that steel. The designer of the Ned Foss blade was upset to see this knife . He had no idea Flissa was producing his blade before the release of his sea lion. Kinda sucks. ..I don't who allowed Flissa to use his design? I'm guessing it's the same factory Ned Foss uses and some contract stuff was in the small print 🤷♂️
@rollypollyguy39764 ай бұрын
@airiksknifereviews9548 That's ridiculously awesome!! My guts saying what you're saying, same factory. It's a smoking deal and I favor the green to black scales.
@airiksknifereviews95484 ай бұрын
@rollypollyguy3976 The sheaths work but do not hold up well. For $20-25 ya can't beat it esp if ya make handles its a great project blade. After I rehandled mine they felt like completely different blades. I honestly would think they were a premium brand if it didn't say Flissa on um . Excellent stuff.

So far , I'm gonna bang it around some more and make sure that D2 doesn't start chipping. Even if it does, there's a thin enough apex to convex it a bit to stop any chipping. I will put this knife to good use once I get a thicker handle....That said the steel is legit , but it could use a micro bevel or slight convex. It's very hard D2 , probably above 60 hrc .

Best scandi deal online . .. You can not find a better knife for the money. You can't even buy a knife blank that good for $25. The best I can find is the Nordic Knife Design Forester blank for $39. This is a working full tang ready to go D2 steel bushcraft knife with a spine that's just as sharp as my Garbergs. It should be sold out , but people don't trust D2 from China . Even if it was a bit chippy it's still worth $25 in my opinion ...Just convex it bit if it does get micro chipping. Oh well , more for me 😁

I stumbled across this knife by chance on Amazon, picked it up because I wanted a decent looking camp knife for my son to use that I wouldn’t cringe when he beats the heck out of it (because it’s cheap). 2 full weekends in a row of camping and my boy chopping down limbs, whittling branches, and hacking off knots, and this knife (after cleaning the dirt/sap off) still cut through paper! Needless to say, I bought 2 more immediately (1 for me and 1 for my daughter). Great freaking camp knives

I was using it the other day and realized I forgot to sand down the over sharp spine. I don't like the tip area with a sharp 90° spine it tares up my thumb. So I took a rock to rub it dull....It did absolutely nothing. It's definitely D2 with a 60 to 62 Rockwell hardness if I had to guess. I haven't seen any chipping so far, I've had D2 on scandi blades before and had micro chipping bit not on this one.
