I have an idea for the smoke generator. Where the air linlet is, instead of just a hole where air blows through it attached a small electric fan to blow air through the system. Just rob a little power from the battery pack that's already on board. That way it doesn't matter if you're flying faster or slow, there will always be smoke.

I think having a tractor prop directly in front of the "smoke generator" would work. It would give more air pressure than just the passive air from the plane speed. It looks like that is what the working test footage was doing as well.

the problem you have is that you need a relatively smooth airflow going into it. what you could do is the opposite.. i've done a similar thing in my blue angels EDF that i had, I found that if you have an EDF and put the "smoke cartridge" in front of the EDF so that it sucks the smoke out and through the EDF it works a heck of a lot better than after the edf

I think if the smoker used a venturi effect to suck the powder out like a ghetto sand blaster it would work better than relying on air making it through the body of that thing.

Something to try but you could take a vape pipe apart and use a Lithium battery with an element inside of that. I also remembered watching a show on custom armored cars for executive protection. That had smoke screen devices, that they said used some sort of transmission fluid/oil. Which nowadays for many cars has quite a thin viscosity. Something that would drip small amounts of the oil onto an electronic heating element? However encased in alumuminum or metal housing for heat and fire resistance?

Here's a different idea on your smoke generator. Try to extrude the powder, use a drill bit and a small electric motor to power it. They use screws for moving powders and grains, sugar and so forth. a V hopper feeding a rotating screw would allow you to turn it on and off, and changing screw size would allow you to control how much it extrudes. If it works, you could 3d print the screw to the size you need.

You could 3D print a prop to the opposite end of the screw (augur) to have it rotate it. But that might turn it too quickly. I like your idea though.

David, on the Smoke system is there a way to neck down the inlet tube where the powder is picked up so you create a venturi (negative pressure) so the powder is sucked into the tube?

Try chalk line chalk (powder) in those generators. It's fairly cheap and comes in a variety of colors. So, the next time you're at Menards or Loews pick some up.

Try to use a large syringe, filled with Talcum Powder, pushed closed by a linear screw and servo, then run flexible tubing out of the fuselage at a high pressure spot. Turkey Baster size, or 3D printed much larger, like for the B-17 maybe?

I wonder if corn starch or some other powder could be used instead of talcum powder? It might be more flammable, but probably only a risk in the immediate vicinity of the plane.

I think that if you crash an RC plane into the ground with a full tank of corn starch, that most of it will just end up in a pile and a small bit might blow away in the wind and be a small hazard, however, if you crash into a tree then the corn starch could aerosolize(?) as it falls, and if there is an ESC that caught fire, then it could be a larger fire hazard and might flambe the tree. Perhaps TKOR has an idea of a powder that is less flammable, they've done a lot of testing with inflammability of corn starch and other powders.

Once the B-17 is made you guys like a while back should mount some BF-109’s with inbuilt airsoft guns and you could land and put in a new canister once the ammunition runs dry. I think that would be perfect as you could shoot at the B-17 and it could really show the marvel of how survivable the Flying Fortress really was. Also A really cool video idea that would definitely grab some attention. This idea: complicated, but do-able and would definitely be a popular video.

Kinda reminds me of when the RAF Red Arrows were flying back in the day,I don't know what they used for smoke but do remember that there was almost a housewife riot when their washing got the color dies all over their pristine sheets.(Mom told me).Several people got stained when standing close to the flight line when the smoke was tested on the ground,one guy with grey hair got a blue rinse|!! (teehee)..........................................

Here's a question. What was the humidity like that day? I've seen powder issues before due to that. Even though it isn't enough to make the powder clump up, it could change the "viscosity" enough so that it doesn't want to flow out as easily, and will require more air flow.

Take a tiny ultrasonic mister part put it in a pipe it's size around and only an inch high if that ...then two tubes on ether side of it ...mesh with fine mesh over top of tube (maby maby not) ...and then add a tube on top like a T and have the mesh go into it in the center....add the tiny driver for the ultrasonic and add a tiny pump and water tank in a loop with that cup....it will make alot of smoke ...atleast in other testing it did

Use vegetable glycerin! Resistance wire and big batt. Make a coil of kanthal or nichrome wire and uses a nozzle to point at the hot coil and make smoke bomb amounts of nontoxic vapor just like a fog machine! I vape! All you need is 2.5v and like 10A for 2800c @. 04ohm

you could always use an e cigarette heater to make smoke from basic vegetable oil as well .. and it is self contained ... and they even come with their OWN reservoir ... . added bonus more aerodynamic ... SMALLER cross section ... and streamlined ... heck if it has a pocket clip like a pen then use that to attach it to the plane bottom ... . activate with a basic remote controlled switch ...

That bike needs a turn stop. There's a certain point past where the front wheel will not work right on 3kes of that configuration. Ideally, you want a smaller wheel up front. Whomever made that was thinking of tadpole config. where the mass is centerfold. Shame, the bike is really nice otherwise.
