I'm jealous. Mine did have a spike as we suspected at this same time, but it aborted at about 2.5 inches long. I had another one spike last month but it aborted at .25 inches. I am getting two new roots simultaneously, however, and thats fine with me because I still think the plant is too little, but I am almost certain after one report and from my experience with the two spikes that a dry rest is what will trigger a spike, so I'm planning on keeping mine watered consistently to try to keep it in veg mode until I think the plant is sufficiently large enough to bloom.
