Thank you for the video. I currently have a 2002 Maxum 1800 bow rider with the mercruiser 3.0 and alpha one gen two drive with a 19 pitch 4 blade aluminum propeller. It did have a 21 pitch propeller but I did not like bottom to mid range propeller. My top speed with the 21 pitch was 40mph but it took forever to get there. Once I switched to 19 pitch my low to medium performance went up and I was pleasantly surprised to see my top speed increase to 43 mph which I didn’t expect. Question: will a 17 pitch propeller be better suited for the 3.0 4 cylinder? Being that it only produces 135 hp. I just don’t want to be throwing money around looking for a propeller.

Thanks. I was wondering about the back and forward play once installed and was worried because it looked like the pin was moving too. After seeing your video you explained that is there on purpose. Could of spent a full day trying to make that right and would of ended with s ruined lower leg. Thank you.

Can the delron sleeve be inserted the wrong way? On my propeller the hub inserts into the wider grooves while the narrower slots that fit the hub perfectly are facing in towards the gear case.

That’s the exact issue I’m having, I can’t find the correct thrust hub, all of the ones I’ve tried are too small a diameter and don’t sit against the shoulder. Do you have the part number for that thrust washer? I have a tempest 24 p 48-825872

Can you just buy the delron sleeve by its self to save money, to replace if one goes bad on the water?

At 2:16 where you show the trust bearing fitting the propeller, the trust bearing on my propeller is about 1/8 of an inch smaller and has lots of play. Could this be a big issue?

john doe yes. Get a proper fitting washer asap.

@@MatthewLeipeltCMT Thanks, I actually bought a new propeller. The washer was the correct size, I had measured and gauged it side by side with a new one. The issue was; that the washer basically ate into the inside wall of the prop causing that small gap. New prop and was was good to go...

Interesting Vid I have a brand new motor, never been run in the water, the propellor on the shaft moves forwards and backwards 12mm. Supposed pre-delivery checks were done? Have to add engine oil as well. About what the oil filter would hold. Prop number is 85632A45 with flo-torq Reflex Hub Is this correct The movement? Or should I pull it apart and check that everything is in the correct place and re-tension. Cheers

I have just installed a new prop and used the hub from the other one. What I meant with the movement back and forwards was actually on the spline...........Clang Clang etc. The original prop nut was not tight. I changed to new prop......installed correctly.......now the shaft has backlash as per normal......there is no movement on the splines now. Prop changed to 48-8M8026625.
