Seeing your full set up really helps. Your video on beach fishing with buzz bombs and rotators has been working well for my wife and I we're catching!!! Yeah and thank you PS rotators are working very well

I had a Columbia River fishing guide show me how to run a herring behind a anchored down sled in the spring for spring chinook. You use a wobbler float above the bait. This is something guys should keep in mind as a option.
@HolyMolyOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Absolutely great idea! No doubt have to add that to the arsenal when on anchor

Hey there ... I lived down at Tulare Beach in the 80s. That sure looks like 'around the point' looking south-ish towards Spee Be Dah / Tulalip Shores. Care to comment?

You ever use herring helmets with this setup to keep the bait in better or you find the hook and button setup sufficient? Thanks!
@HolyMolyOutdoors Жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! Never thought to try a helmet honestly. But bet it would work great especially the clear uv one

I like this method but what do you do about seals taking your bait and hooking up?
@HolyMolyOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I’ve only run into that one time myself and I just play it as a wash if it does. When seals are around the fish are around. I just fish it and see. Thanks for watching and the support

Won't the herring weigh down your bobber if you use a bobber-weight? Also, what do you do in areas that only allow one single hook?
@HolyMolyOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Not if you have the proper float size. I make sure to test them and see how they are floating. I would need to try a couple ideas I have not tried that

Tips on rod and line? Cant get a very good cast with my 9'9" lami x11, what size braid and bobber size and weight would you use?
@HolyMolyOutdoors4 ай бұрын
What I have found for better casting on the float setups is balance to the float/weight and rigging. I run 40-60lb braid most of the time for best floating capacity but off the beaches having a high density float with a 1oz weight seems to cut through the air better and frankly I only cast 30’-50’ off the shore most times

What depth do you prefer or does it depend on day and beach?
@gino55yo Жыл бұрын
Hello, for a float of 15g or 20g I take the same weight in lead? Thank you 🙂
@HolyMolyOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Depending on the weight of the bait being used as well. As a good idea I always use a little lighter and match how the bait rides in the water to double check proper set depth

thank you for the feedback, I will follow your valuable advice.

What are you brining your herring with? I want to try this next year. Going to pick a velocity rod or two up at the upcoming sportsmans show.
@HolyMolyOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Typically just use Pautzke fire brine for the herring

Can you use the same method set up in MA9/10/11 from piers, shore but live Herring ? Thanks

@@kmop206 you absolutely can! I have a video I did with live herring few years back as well off the shore. Super fun way to do it and coho slam them
