Believe it or not 20 years ago the River Trent had many large Dace this kind of size. I remember catching quite a few clonkers around this kind of size on stick float and maggot feeder. Great Vid, Cracking Dace & Rainbow

I was river fishing today, caught a few but it was a tale of so many missed bites or simply not striking well enough, I even checked the hook at one point to make sure it wasn't blunt such was the frequency of failed strikes, very frustrating when that happens.

This was me today i got a nice bream and a 5 pound tench. Then when the big boys came in i let myself down with my striking. Missed so many good bites and lost a few on the hook. Im blaming the heat. 28 degrees today i was flaking out of energy lol

What's the craic Greame? Another helpful video 👍 What I would love to see would be some sort of cast indicator to show where your bait has landed. Sometimes it's hard to see where it has went. Totally awesome tip 👌

As always, a very informative and nice video float fishing on the river with one rod is for me the best way to fish like we use to as children love it , tell me what do you use for a microphone you seem to have a long cable on your gopro l can only find 1 yard cables for my camera. Has to be one of my favorite fish to catch considering there cold water fish just fight good I like my warm water fishing but the trout is over looked fairly smart fish I do not go above 4lb line when fishing for them.

Tried this on my local river, the Rhymney just outside Cardiff and I think it's devoid of fish plus it's too shallow and fast :( I challenge you to fish it and catch!

Probably an old Shimano 2500 ? I have no idea its so old the numbers wear away.

@@TAFishing I managed to see in one video that it was a Shimano xt 7 and I think it would be described as "vintage", most, if not all my tackle would be called vintage these days, a bit like myself! I have found a few for sale but all in the UK and postage to here is expensive! So I'm buying a replacement double handle instead. I'm an avid viewer of your video, UK fishing vacariously as I'm pretty limited in the Philippines for river and lake fishing which used to be my passion, so I really enjoy your exploits. Your video with 2 pen rods taking you back 50 years did the same for me. My boyhood days were spent in and around Edinburgh and when I do get a chance on vacation there I fish Bangour Fisheries which is idyllic, catch or not! Thanks for your reply
