That's my Friday night taken care off..went fishing yesterday using your bread method with a open end feeder and bread flake..all I can say is wow and thanks for the video..had a brilliant day..plenty of big roach.bream and followed by a 9lb and a 6lb mirror..also put my rods up high which made a big difference..thanks again Graham..keep up the good work

Graeme, in a similar small river, shallow water, situation, I've used a small polystyrene ball as a float. You can embed a split shot in the poly ball for a bit of casting weight and make a hole through for the line. I tried one or two variations but a poly ball of about 1.5cm was best. Dace sometimes attacked the smaller poly balls thinking they were flies or elder berries.

Some of my favourite fishing is Urban parkland here in aus, find it tends to get overlooked by other skilled fisherman and newer fisherman aren’t subtle enough and frighten the fish away causing them to get frustrated and leave which tend to leave all the fish to me!

Fished the River Culm in Devon today after roach and dace. Caught tiny roach, dace, some good sized gudgeon and hundreds of minnows. On the bright side I have never caught a minnow before so one of them was a P.B. The water is very murky, unlike your chalk stream. Next time I'm going after the pike.
