Thanks for another great fishing trip. I aways count the quick releases if I'm not keeping any. As always be blessed my friend.

The saltwater folks count it as a catch if they touch the leader. I don't see why not count it if you are going to release it anyways. Thanks for watching.

Just got back home from DH from a float n fly trip. Decent trip. Was just thinking I should try this on Cumberland.

Is there a reason to NOT use a rubber bobber stop and just do this with a slip float? Seems it would make if MUCH easier to cast. Good video

It is easier to cast, but there’s a couple of reasons to not use it. 1 with a slip bobber a heavier fly is needed to pull the line through the bobber, there’s a lot of times the fish will hit the fly on the initial fall, that slow fall of a 1/16 or 3/32 fly is key; and 2 there’s a couple of retrieves that cannot be done with a slip float, 1 a slow turning of the reel handle, with a slip float the fly would end up at the float rather than trailing the bobber, and 2 a pull then let the fly fall retrieve, withe a slip float when the fly is pulled it is pulled straight up and falls straight back, with a fixed bobber it pendulums back.
