24:00 - Nothing wrong with the author's method, but just as an alternative for those who like it, instead of doing sequences and branches, you can use "Select". Just drag out your set variable (Texture, Color, etc), drag off the value pin and type "Select". Then you can attach your boolean value (or tag, etc) to Index, and set it there. Personally, I prefer using selects when I know the paths are going to be executed regardless.

I came back and wanted to add "Chilled" and "Frozen" to floating text but I seem to be lost in the sauce. Given the ability bar in the next one I was able to see Ice (my replace of acid) and fire and physical, but not chilled. Inside "ShowFloatingDamage" function ........ i think i just figured it out. Chilled wont work because its not doing damage..... and its not a "damage" type, its a debuff type. Can I make a projectile ability that uses the chill ability INSIDE it? but by doing so still wont post floating text... I created a new Gameplay Ability but for "DamageType" I inputed DebuffChill, inside BP_Enemy i created a icon for "Debuff.Chill" and that icon and floating text is working, now i just need to figure out how to include another gameplay effect inside a gameplay ability but even if I do it still wont show floating text for the attributes (that's where we put the debuffs)...

You could make another GE that has the extra stuff you're looking for, or even have a GE attach another GE.

Can you run this with 2 clients? I am not sure this would work (I mean everyone would see everyone else's damage, wouldn't they?) curious to know if it does.

Thanks for watching : ) Have you tried it. Most projects will allow you to launch two copies from the editor to test such things, and being as the player owns the widget attached to the enemy, it should only show for them. However, this video wasn't created with multiplayer in mind.

Watched this whole thing and love the final results but C++ is still so daunting to me 😅

Like anything, it just takes some research/learning and practice. You can do so much in Unreal with Blueprints, but if you want to use GAS, C++ is your best option. Thanks for watching : )
