I’m going to make one island just for growing different crops, as I feel like I don’t have space on the normal valley for all of the crops I want. Ideally I want a section for every crop, but a bigger plot for pumpkins. A lot of digging to do but will be helpful once it’s all completed

I read somewhere that rain doesn't water crops on the islands. Not sure if this is true for everyone, or if it's a bug. Just make sure you test it out before committing to a massive crop field!

@BrightNeonBrilliancy I will do, I've got loads of ingredients in storage but would be nice to have a place where they are already there ready for it I need em. Only one I'll keep harvesting is the pumpkins. I've been digging all day on it and can defo fit all crops on the island

Rain don't work it seems for me but I hope they keep it that way. So I can always use miracle crop. I fit a 36 square plot for every crop with two full row left for pumpkins. I also labeled every crop with fairy bubbles & it works so well.

It kind of seems like the floating islands are meant more for fashion over function. What I mean by that is some of the buildings people want to move such as Scrooge store, Daisy store, stalls, etc have a function serving food, buying items, etc and who knows if that is a reasoning whereas with villager houses all you really do is go in there and visit that's it. I wonder if there is a restriction with pods and water like how would you disable fishing on floating islands while on the mainland still have the ability to fish. My question is when you garden on the floating islands can you find memories while you shovel?

My Plaza feels crowded, so hoped to move Scrooge & Daisy to the island, but alas. If they call it an "extention" we should be able to move things between island and Valley (they can make it biome/Valley restricted)

ahhh no i don't think I did mention it but thankyou for pointing that out! i agree, would be nice, especially for people planning to move storage or farms there, it would be helpful to place our orchards there too!

I love how pretty the ice island is! Plus it’s easier to build since there’s no rivers/ponds in the way. 🎉🎉that sucks we can’t add objects in the water 😮

its sooo pretty!! Yes I am glad it doesnt have ponds or rivers through it! would have been nice to have that border of water around the island, if we wanted to add villager homes to them or water decor

Regarding summoning villagers to the floating islands, it won't work if the villager is indoors. So if they're in Scrooge's or either restaurant, they won't pop up on the island.

I am so sad to hear there are weather elements on the Floating Islands. I was hoping it would be a way to get away from the rain when building DreamSnaps. Thanks for the info! 🥰

Thank you for this rundown. I shared a lot of similar frustrations. These islands are pretty amazing features, but it is a bit disappointing that they didn't even deliver on some of the things that we saw in the showcase and/or key art. Especially disappointing about the islands not registering as "outdoor space" so we can't put water features 😕 Anyway I appreciate you taking the time to make this video and how thorough it is. Hopefully Gameloft is listening and they'll fix some of these things. I personally just really want to make a farm on my Sunlit island, and I want WALL-E's garden and all of the fruit trees and bushes from the valley up there. So hopefully they'll allow us to do some of these things in the future 🤞🏼

yehh i think i wouldnt feel so disappointed if they hadnt showcased certain things, i just dont like being misled in that way! that being said gameloft usually do listen and i expect we will see improvements to this new feature!

for me i love that there is no water i can do soo much more on the islands i had a rough time decorating my valley because of all the ponds

@@tanniegames for sure i love the way the floaties are set because we still get water but we also have all the room to decorate and now i can finally do my neighborhood and garden the way i want without the big thing in the middle of the plaza and all the ponds in the meadow and glad :) super happy

How did you move Merlin’s house up there. I tried and while I could move his house I couldn’t’t put it away to transport to the floating island.😊

Hiya! So you don't need to put merlin house away. When your on the floating islands open your furniture tab and there will be a category called house or houses. Click on that and you will see all the villager homes and then all the house styles you own. Just look for the dreamlight library/merlin home and you should be able to place him :) i hope this helps

Don't lose sight of this still could be in development and certain features may not be available until all the islands are placed. Games only have so many squares per land mass, it take a lot of math to get it right, please give the devs a chance to do their job before jumping down any throats. Perhaps send them an email asking nice questions rather than speculate why something was or not done. I do agree with taking one island for farming, especially since there isn't a lot of space for farming on Story book vale, if you separated them the seeds for each other, you would scads of room, and scads of digging/harvesting/watering, But a very full over full larder when you finished. Also keep in mind while we are going great guns on farming you only have a certain amount of houses and storage, I am so looking forward to building the floating islands as they become availible. Happy fun gaming one and all.

ohhh yes absolutely! i am a big advocator for the fact that stuff can develop in this game! I do recommend giving feedback in constructive ways rather than just bashing them, especially not jumping down their throats! As I said in the video I hope its a bug or something they develop on! We've seem them regularly develop and improve upon features. I just think its important to report on how things are especially if they differ from showcases or keyarts that they put out just so people get all the information!

I've had a lot of glitches where I teleport and all of a sudden I'm 10 feet from my character, can't move, but my camera goes everywhere while stationary. In the islands, all the characters are seen as if floating from where they were in the valley but ghost like floating via strange camera in the islands😂

I moved the houses I dont like - monsters, vanelope, walle, eve, to an island. May move buzz house but its tucked away in eternity isle so not a priority. One island is for dreamsnaps. Will keep my crops off island.

Sadly the rain on the islands doesn’t water crops and ancient machines are still limited to 4. Did make an harvest-island only to discovering it 😑

Would be nice to e able to move fruit trees and bushes (from eternity, storybook, and valley) ti an island. Be great for processing. Has anyone tried cooking and crafting on floating island yet? Will it draw from storage on your other areas, main house.

I feel it's better then nothing, but yes surely there was always going to be some complaints about them. The question still is are they still worth it? Yes, yes they are. But it does bother me that I can't move the villager houses up there too and have them in the valley as well.

I just think its worth putting this information out there not just so others know but also if gameloft are aware of these things, they can develop the game to be even better than what it already is!

I totally disagree about the water because they said the floating islands won't have anything on them at all but the fast travel wells. This what I wanted all along for this game.

They probably brought the water up that's down below that was in between the floating island and the small section in the corner that's unused, untouch, and the unreachable area to show the water that's all.

Like their roll-out of Multi-player, maybe they'll add more features to the floating islands in future updates? Would be nice to have actual maps for them to easily keep track of which Villager is on what Island. A goof I noticed is that the icon for Sunlit Island has the Peaceful Meadow logo instead.

This is something that I am hoping will be the case! I do think the developers are usually open to feedback and changing/improving things so I am pretty sure this will come in time.

Petition to get the mud out of the forest island 😂 I am happy we've got the extra space but all the things I actually wanted to move on the islands was wall e's garden so I can make a little farm on the sunlit platue island, I wanted beasts' stall as well. Some of these stuff take up too much space in the main valley. We need a menu the same way we've got for the houses as it would be amazing to have all the stalls moved to the islands if we feel like they don't fit in any way the main valley. A lot of people hate daisy's boutique and it would be nice if we have everything extra as an option to move around. Or valley presets is still a very much desired thing for me as the islands aren't exactly perfect as we've seen Edit: and have water to move Ursula's ugly house in there😂😂

It just annoys me that one of the dialogue options said we were going to make a villain island when we can’t move the majority of them there! Ursula is in water. Mother Gothel and Jafar’s homes don’t move. We could do Scar, Hades, and Gaston (although he isn’t very villain like in this game.)

My key unhappy was the fact I couldn't more an of the fruit trees, having them on an island would free up ever so much space, but that is not to be, sadly, oh well, into a games, a little disappointment must fall, there will be better features I am sure. I could care less if I can't move the stores stalls etc. If you watched the release video you would know that you can't do some of the stuff we would all like to do and there would be no water, it was stated in the video, that the islands were bar to build as we liked with no barriers, water traps or rivers to get in out way. I think it is a great idea, give us free rein on land to see how we develop it, your villagers will be able to travel adn marvel at our ideas

Oh for sure I wouldnt be surprised if some features develip and change. In regards to the water i would say thats not exactly true, as shown in my video, in several points of the showcase, they feature water surrounding the island, so they specifically show water. I wasnt expecting water on the islands, because they clearly showed there was no water on the island, but they did show water surrounding it!

I am almost certain gameloft ran into some major game-breaking issues during the backend of QA for the floating island features. The fact that this has to work on not only PC but the PS4/5 , Xbox, Gamepass, Switch, Steam deck and arcade?, I can totally understand it's not easy. I think that the water may have been a deal breaker for the Switch and its stability - maybe GL couldn't just design a special island for the Switch, so I bet they needed to revert to a more stable Island design for all (basic rectangle with trees and shrubs). At some point I hope GL can implement the changes they want without having to deal with Switch 1, of course it's a huge player base... I just hope that in the future, Gameloft can implement the features they have in mind without having a soon to be 8yr old console dictating what they can - cannot do. Switch 2 launches in March 2025, hopefully that will be a far more capable system to play this hefty performance relying game.

We don’t know if the successor is coming in March or not. It’s just a rumor for now The sad thing is that although it launched 8 years ago almost, the chip is a bit older than that even.

@@tanniegames For sure, maybe Goofy’s stall wasn’t behaving as it should have been and had to be pulled back like the snippets into magic mechanic. But for Dreamsnaps it’s definitely awesome and thanks for the tip to get the characters!
