I used this concept and cut the squares in half to make triangles (even cheaper!) and then staggered the heights on every other strand (30" and 36" from the floor). Each triangle was a foot up and each string was a foot apart. Turned out amazing for $100! Oh and I used foam board and the squares were 10x10 before cut in half. His tip of the holes not in the center is exactly right! My stage is 28x15. I did not burn my para-cord.... honestly I forgot that tip lol

thanks for sharing! my church rents a school auditorium so we have lights that look like stage lights for plays and stuff. very orange and old fashioned. what would you do to change that? please tell me what to buy. thank you! !!
@WorshipLeaderHangout

Hi Frincess, The most simple thing you can do is replace your current lighting for almost any LED RGB or RGBW wash fixture. This will allow you to wash your stage and back drop with any color. Depending on your current setup, you may also need to replace the front was as well with a LED equivalent or better. If a venue or church is not using some type of LED fixture for the front wash, its very likely they are using a PAR 64 can or an ellipsoidal like the Source Four Jr. I would start with calling a local stage lighting specialist and have them check out your stage and make suggestions on what they recommend. Thanks for watching.

Very cool. But our backdrop is white. I don't think that would work too good with that? Do you?
@WorshipLeaderHangout
@WorshipLeaderHangout 8 жыл бұрын
It defiantly will not look the same as having a solid black wall behind it. However, I could see it working if you use white cord and being sure you have good lighting placement. I don't believe the white behind the backdrop would totally wash it out seeing how much detail this design creates. It may be worth making a strand or two to test it out first. Thanks for watching.

What lights are you using for your back lighting? Also, could you share what type of haze machine (or fog) you are using?
@WorshipLeaderHangout
@WorshipLeaderHangout 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the questions. We are using RGB LED par cans to light this design. They are unbranded. The haze/fog machine is the Martin Magnum 2500 Hz.

@abhishekbanerjee9425
@abhishekbanerjee9425 7 жыл бұрын
hey I wanted to do this for a college event. when the par cans are on it looks fabulous. but I'm a bit skeptical that when the main stage lights shoot up during performances or anchoring ( they will be on for 90% of the time) this shall lose its effect. Tbh I'm bit confused about the look when the stage lights go on.
@Socapexxx
@Socapexxx 7 жыл бұрын
A decent front wash at a good angle shouldn't hit the backdrop. Although, if your space/lighting can't be adjusted to not hit the backdrop, more powerful lighting or lighting from top and bottom should counter balance the front wash. I'd start by getting some material and just holding it where it would go, just to see what the end result may look like.
@WorshipLeaderHangout
@WorshipLeaderHangout 7 жыл бұрын
Abhishek Banerjee Liam from the reply below said it well. Watch the angle if your wash. We use much less wash during worship as well. But the design was still really well lit even when our wash was at 100% during the message. Great question.

How long did this transformation take, and how many people were working on it?
@WorshipLeaderHangout

It took 5 days. Sunday to Thursday. We had about 10 helping break down the stage and only two of us building and installing the tiles throughout the week. This also includes installing new fixtures and programming scenes.

@@WorshipLeaderHangout oh ok cool thx. That awl hole may help better keep it snug on the chord, I was thinking of a hole punch but I wasn't finding anything that would go that deep into the center of the coroplast.thanks for that answer. Another question would be have u ever used aluminum mesh it looks very cool when colored stage lights hit it also if u wrinkle it up it gives it a rocky look too, let me know if u come across any good uses for it. Thx. Keep up the Good work.

What about with low ceiling churches
@WorshipLeaderHangout
@WorshipLeaderHangout 7 жыл бұрын
Wilbert Rodriguez Go smaller with the size of each square and keep them close together. As long as you have something to hang them from, low ceilings shouldn’t be a problem.
