Hope you enjoy this thorough tour. Lee mentioned that there is one misidentification. The Mme. Isaac Perreire is actually an Antique 89. :)

I’m glad you qualified that as of all the roses shown Mme Isaac Pereire was one of the few I actually knew and I was sure the one shown wasn’t one. We all make mistakes 😊 Lovely video. This guy sure is a rose nerd! 🌹 I love the idea of Rose rustling btw! I could really get into that

I kind of felt sad watching this. I had a friend that died almost twenty years ago. He gave me a very small deciduous magnolia. And every year when it’s in flower, I remember. That’s the thing with plants, they are living memories, and as you take care of them, those that left continue to live through them. Thank you for sharing.

ohhhhhhh my lawd!! Finally!! The most wonderful garden tour I have ever seen. I have searched and searched for a decent garden tour and could not find one that would fulfill my soul! Leon's stories and his enthusiasm was contagious. I could hear him speak for hours. So many interesting stories. I looked at every corner, every detail and I knew there was a story behind each one. I even noticed the pigeon on the fence and wondered what that was about. Only to find out through his website he raises pigeons! His smile just warms the heart. The roses and their stories were just so interesting. I'll have to watch this over and over again. What an honor to have watched this video!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!! One day I would love to visit Leon and his poetic garden!! One day.

Fabulous! This is my all-time favourite video. Thank you so much for producing this wonderful content on roses. My relationship with roses started in the 60's as a child when we lived in Surrey England for a while. We were having a school parade (I think it was May Day) and we went door to door asking for rose petals which were then strewed on the path at the school. Nothing beats the smell and beauty of roses grown in England. Recently I was in Melbourne Australia and helped my brother and his wife prune their 100+ roses on a farm property they bought recently. One big reason for buying the property was the extensive and expensive gardens that were already in place. When I got home I started buying roses which were the only perennial in my no-grass front and back gardens that I didn't have (shame on me). I lost most of them after the first winter which was really sad. The second-year I took these insulated black plastic wraps that are used around beehives and I circled them around my roses and filled the center with leaves. All my roses lived!! but my snoopy neighbour looked over my 7' fence and called the city to complain I had "garbage bags" all over my back yard. LOL, The insulated wraps are deliberately made with black plastic so they'll absorb heat from the sun. I just love hearing stories about each rose or plant and the plants I love the most in my garden are the ones that were gifted to me by friends.

You know how good a video is by the inspiration you get out of it and it just inspired me to retire someday doing the same thing.
