I just heard chirping twice from my laundry room (where I keep my two lovebirds) and it's really late. How do I ensure my birds get enough sleep each night? All the family stay up pretty late. It doesn't help that the toilet is right next door and people shout to hear. Please help me, this is very frustrating.

Flock talk, first of all, thank you for your lovely videos. second of all, are you able to show us what the bottom of that branch tree stand look like? we are getting bird soon and wanted to prepare an ideal environment for it. I read through your PDFs and watched most of your videos about new bird stuff etc. I wanted to make a large tree branch perch for my bird to chill on outside of the cage just like what you have on this video. I have done my research on safe and non-toxic wood for a cockatiel that i can find locally. I intent to disinfect the tree branch, debark, bake what i can in the oven etc. but i do wonder how i can prop a large branch up like how you have it. so please if you have time, i would really appreciate if you can show us this bird furniture that you have. thank you again and have a lovely day! i appreciate you and what you do.

I did a DIY video on this tree stand on the channel! That will detail how I assembled the base. I the comments someone also mentioned using a xmas tree stand which is an awesome idea as well!

Hey! So, I’m looking for some advice for my birds, so if anyone could help, that would be AMAZING!!!!👍😁😊So, I have four parakeets that are living in a VERY large flight cage. Two of which are newly introduced, because I recently rescued them from an owner who no longer wanted them. So the problem is, occasionally throughout the day, they have begun to pick on one of the birds in the cage, and also just pick on each other in general. I have tried separating them before because I do not want them to get hurt or have food taken from each other, but as soon as I separate them, they CONSTANTLY try to get back to each other, and when I open the cage, they fly right back to each other. So, is anything else I can do to prevent this? I have made sure there is plenty of food and a bowl of food and water for everyone. There is also many toys and activities to keep them busy. So, any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!! I just want the best for my birds, because I love them all SOOOO much!!!! Thank you!!!!👍😁😊🦜🦜🦜🦜

Budgies pick on each other by nature, mine will contest over a favorite perch even. What are the sexes of your 2 original birds and the newcomers? I take it that no one is losing feathers or blood, since you don't say they are fighting.
@tzxazrael4 жыл бұрын
my first thought is separate cages, but keep them beside each other. this way the birds can still see each other, but don't have to feel like they are losing their territory/safe space/etc.
@kenzingtonmyers49794 жыл бұрын
Ansonidak, mine do the exact same thing! They always try to be on the same perch, and then get mad sometimes when everyone is on it, or if they’re not sitting next to who they want to lol😂😂All 4 birds are female, and I have not noticed blood or feather loss and I watch carefully just to be sure. Thank you!!!!👍😁😊🦜🦜🦜🦜

tzxazrael, Thank you!!!! I’ll try this and see if it works. I have tried separating them in the past, but they try to go back to each other. So maybe making sure they can still see each other and be next to each other will be better!!!! Thank you!!!!👍😁😊🦜🦜🦜🦜

My boyfriend's sister has two parakeets, and she mixes in Harrison's superfine pellets with their birdseed. The superfine is about the size of a single millet and blends in so I think they eat it because they don't know any better. If you have a bigger bird, nutriberries have some pellets in them. I give them to my lovebird as treats, but he's already on a pelleted diet so I don't know if your bird will take to it as much.

Would you consider doing a reactive dog channel? I have a reactive toy poodle and expecting a parrotlet in a few weeks.
@FlockTalk4 жыл бұрын
I don’t plan on it, reactivity is very much a one-on-one basis with reasons that are different for each animal. It’s best that someone local is able to witness the behaviour and come up with a proper effective training plan on an individual basis!

What do you do with the birds as there’s a possibility of them pooping everywhere? How did you get the birds to poop in specific spot? Do you have a vid for that please?

Do you do the same thing when you are making them chop? Or do you allow then to come taste test ?
@FlockTalk4 жыл бұрын
I usually let them pitch it when it is safe to do so, definitely not going to complain about them “stealing” veggies!

Hello, I hope you don’t mind me asking questions unrelated to the video but what UV bulb do you recommend for my parrotlet? I cant seem to find the featherbrite bulbs and the rest I find has a lot of UVB. Thank you :)

she's stated that she isn't looking to get more birds at this time... but her training tips are very general-purpose. they could be done for any bird.

My thought throughout the whole video... How soggy did your cereal get before you could eat it? 😅 Excellent video btw! I was wondering if there was a method to stop my bird from going after my food... my prayers have been answered!

Surprisingly not soggy at all, this tutorial didn’t take all that long for them to pick up on!
