Great video! We train our cockatiels at the same time as they don't like being separated! We try and have two different activities going on - one for each bird to keep them busy and focused!

You guys should really work on getting the brothers to enjoy time separately away from each other. God forbid you have to seperate them for whatever reason an accident, injury, illness or death the poor boys wouldn't know how to cope with the separation imagine the stress and all that could come with that if a separation was absolutely necessary.

@@judymarie7221 you may notice my comment is from two years ago so yes, our cockatiels can cope with being separated after lots of training.

@@BirdNerdSophie I'm not trying to be rude at all. I know the comment is old. I love your channel and watch your videos faithfully. I've actually learned so much from you. I've just never seen a single one of your videos where fish & chip weren't together lol. If you see one the other isn't far behind. It just seems like they're still inseparable. I hope I didn't offend you. It was just an observation and when I saw your comment I thought I could share my thoughts. Again I hope I didn't offend you & if I did I sincerely apologize. I know from watching all you videos how much you love your flock & your knowledge & experience on animal care is awesome. I hope you understand.

@@judymarie7221 thank you for watching my videos- I really appreciate it! We know how much people love seeing both Chip and Fish which is why we have them in the videos at the same time, but they are only a small portion of our day! For example, Fish is a mummy’s boy and likes to hang out with me whilst Chip is somewhere else with David! They are a flock species so will naturally gravitate to each other but they are very happy to do their own thing, especially now they’re older! They even hang out with Olive too (supervised of course!)

@@BirdNerdSophie that's great. I've seen how olive and skampy have flourished in your care. I especially enjoy pickles she's such a cuddler she seems so sweet & qiuet if a parrot can be described as quiet lol. Well keep up the good work i love your content informative and entertaining especially when one of the flock is playing in your hair or chattering in you ear. Well enjoy the rest of your day.

Useful video! Some good tips in there. We frequently end up training multiple birds (as the brothers need to be out together) and sometimes the conures! We use a few of the things you mentioned, but there's a couple we haven't either!

I really hope for fish & chip's sake you guys can work on getting them to enjoy life away from each other hopefully they never have to be separated but it's not healthy for either of them to be so dependant on each other.

This video comes in handy. I have a very strongly bonded pair of parrotlets, they refuse to be seperated and will stress out and contact call, if they're seperated, or totally stress out if one is out and one is in the cage.

I brought my parrotlet home about 2 weeks ago, and he hates being in his cage and anywhere besides on my and in my hair. Anyone know how to fix this to make him more comfortable being in his cage and on a perch outside of his cage? Anything would help! I feel so bad putting him in his cage when i need to do something

How can you go about training a bird to recognize the clicker when you have two that live in the same cage, and who don’t like to be taken out of said cage?

It's honestly not something to be encouraged for birds. They are animals that poo a lot and it's not possible to do completely. She also doesn't need nor want to do it with either of her birds so it'd be impossible to demonstrate.

@@musicooze Of course, I can :). Once your birds are out of the cage, their food and water should drive them back in. You need to spend more time with them, maybe put their cage in your room and just talk to them or drop a treat in their bowl everytime you walk past. Keep in mind this could take months, if you don't think you can do that. Well... Goodluck :)
