yes, the difference is there and flog 2c is so much better for the trained eye

The differences becomes even more noticable in HDR! It seems to fix almost all the inaccuracies i've seen with f-log2, but i don't know if i like the way foliage green looks on C vs. before, looks way colder but maybe that is more accurate?

Interesting comparison, some pretty stark differences in extreme situations!

Thanks for the comparison:)

Are you using a lut to bring it into Rec 709 ? Or CST

lut from fujifilm website

I’m confused. It shows ProRes 422 LT on your timeline? Did you record externally as raw? If not, the Fujifilm XH2S forces you to bake in a log color profile… this can be FLog, FLog2 or FLog2C. Once baked in, any switching in post is essentially meaningless as you are limited to the information that was already baked in. The only way to effectively do this in DaVinci Resolve would be to record BRaw externally to a Blackmagic Video Assist. You could then apply whatever Log profile you like in post. I might best upgrade my GFX100 II firmware and post my findings. I was hoping someone had already done this. But I’m not finding anything.

hello, for me prores lt is enough for my work. I don’t record externally in raw because of the extra weight and file size. You might get better results using raw though, this is out of my expertise.

If you're recording RAW there will be no difference, as RAW gives you extra color information. FLOG 2C in settings should only affect the internal compressed codecs.

How long have you been learning color grading?

I am always learning, haha

Don't know, looks the same through the youtube compression on my 8bit monitor:))

Haha, the flog2c is richer in color

It's definitely better on objects that emit light. Look at the blue neon and the red lantern.
