Man, if I wasn't old and worried about the health of my joints I would get into grappling because it's starting to make sense after watching hundreds of videos over some years. I still only have the most basic concepts to explore, like redirecting forces, but it would be fun. I am just not willing to damage my joints to explore that interest. Kinda sucks, but I still choose not hurting them.

If your safely training your joints will be fine tap early and often
@errgo27138 ай бұрын
Look into gyms with seniors-only classes. There are some out there (and they need members to keep those sessions going). You can still learn techniques without going HAM and still gain the health benefits of regular training.
@HoboGardenerBen8 ай бұрын
Thanks guys, I'll look into that. I'm only 42, not a senior, but I feel my mortality and increasing fragility so I am cautious, it's weird. Other older people would understand and not go hard, that sounds nice. And I have no pride issue with tapping, our joints are inherently fragile and hard to fix. I like walking without discomfort so I don't want my interest in grappling dynamics to ruin that. I appreciate the encouragement and ideas, the pot is fully on the back burner now, thanks :)

@@HoboGardenerBen i know people In mid 60s who are white belts it’s definitely not too late the majority or older guys who have injuries are because of they were idiots or competitors when they were younger. Train often but don’t overtrain and rest properly. Remember you don’t have to train with everyone and can refuse shitty training partners. Leave your ego at the door if you want to stay healthy.
@HoboGardenerBen8 ай бұрын
