Silly comment. Meregali didnt just tap from accidentally tripping. Dude was rag dolled into the air forcing him to take the throw or possibly break his shit off by posting. Whether from a darce or a throw that injured meregali, one fact remains: pixleys actions made meregali tap. Give props where due

Well it's about the same as if I break your leg with a leg kick to win an MMA match. I hurt you with a legal technique and should be given the props but it was not my intention to win that way and is not something I have practiced for or can recreate reliably.

@@PabloTheThinkernah meregali couldve won if he just pulled guard and tried to submit from guard. But i guess michael pixley is very difficult opponent stylistically. Since meregali bottom game is mostly wrestle ups and sweeps and has an amazing top game. So against a wrestler, its just a bad match up. Very hard to sweep and wrestle against. Wrong strategy imo. He would’ve won any other way, since pixley would not be able to pass his guard. Even tho he did, he easily reguarded. So its sad really. But oh well. Thats sports, lots of upsets

@@dan5626 you couldn't be more wrong. Judo practicioners are extremely proficient at submissions, it's actually a running joke in the BJJ community how high level Judo players are easily able to give any brown and black belts a run for their money even without training a single day of Jiu-Jitsu. People easily forget that Judo also originated from Japanese Jiu-jitsu, just like BJJ. It was because of entertainment value as it became an Olympic sport that Judo has forsaken ground techniques in competition, doesn't mean they are not there. Or do you think Ronda Rousey was so good at arm bars because of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu when we all know she had practiced Judo her entire life. Also, he can be a great wrestler all he wants. Fact of the matter is that he's a tremendous wrestler who applied two Judo throws with absolute perfection, one of them causing an injury to his opponent. So, yeah, the credit goes to Judo. Ain't no way around it.

the script of a downfall: be cocky (not accepting Pixley's hand and dying his hair in gold color), talk all that talk before the event (claiming to be on a whole different level than everyone else), be inconsiderate of your opponents (saying double gold would come EASY regardless of who he'd fight, and calling out submissions beforehand), disrespect your opponent mid fight by posing for pictures, and not acknowledging losing to Michael in the post fight interview, blaming the shoulder... and list goes on and on. In all fairness, if someone Judo throws you to the ground and you can't continue because of the hard landing on your shoulder which is what the move is intended to do.....then you have in fact tapped from a pain submission. He put that man in pain and he tapped....or submitted as a result though yes I agree it was not the darce choke submission most people think it was but he was in fact 100% submitted.

not sure why people are impressed with Pixley, he avoided grappling most of the fight and disengaged almost the whole time, got lucky Meregali got injured otherwise he was looking to just dance around and avoid the superior grappler on the ground, which is what its supposed to be about, grappling, not avoiding grappling.

Pixley dominated this match. I say this as a Meregali fan
@gsp3428
@gsp3428 Ай бұрын
@@chivimbe he dominated by disengaging the whole time pretty much, moving around and trying actually participate in the grappling part, he was looking to win a decision, grapple for one second, then disengage, wait another few minutes of dancing around Meregali and then try for another second. Pixley is the superior wrestler and by that he could control where the match goes, but wanted almost nothing to do with actually grappling which dissapointed me, because I know Pixley is a beast. I want to watch actual Jiujitsu, no try and hope for a pass and then disengage for the next five minutes. He only won because Meregali got hurt. He certainly didnt dominate. I just watched Nicky Ryan vs Andrew Tackett, and that was a domination. Tacket continually tried to pass, and put constant pressure on him. Pixley did none of that.
