This is a more realistic example of what drum corps is really like than any other youtube vid I've ever seen. I'm so disappointed this season got cancelled, but vids like this remind me of why I do this activity. 2021 will be the year.

“We can make this a one and done, if you so choose”. One of my favorite lines to hear staff say bc it reminds us that we’re a major part of who runs the rehearsal. The better we rehearse, the faster we can get through chunks and get better at more things. 11:52

The staff at Crown are huge proponents of that; the attitude is very much "work smarter, not harder" and reinforces our ability as members to be in control and do things right the first time. There were definitely times when rehearsals would end early over the summer simply because we chose to focus and give 110% on the first rep of each chunk, and the staff recognized that.

His master class at NC State explains his teaching style. IMO, the most successful programs have instructors whose leadership is better than their chops or knowledge. You can find his master class on youtube. It won't let me post the link.

This rehearsal vibe seems so great and fun to be a part of. They all have respect for each other. He's not killing them physically. They're working hard but not over working. They seem to be having a great time while getting stuff done. Perfect rehearsal vibe.

This video is so important. Due to what the audience sees, there's this sense that these people walk in and from day one of auditions, are absolute machines. Nah, they grow into that and this video of their learning process shows a fraction of the effort and steps the take to become amazing performers

I see A lemon well yeah cause people compare top secret to vanguard or BD and it’s just nowhere near that clean and top secret isn’t a true drum corps, but I don’t usually see “dirt” comments on other dci videos unless it’s a really early season video

2020 seasons canceled = no 2020 dci footage so... it only makes since to post all the awesome content they got from last year to help kids (and fans) cope a little during this summer by treating them with this amazing & insightful footage. (atleast it makes since to me but i dont know)
