This seems eerily similar to the William Mason Marching Band 2014 show

eh - it's more like a combination of Carolina Crown visually (in 2015 with their wagon built by the same guy) and Carolina Crown musically (in 2010 with their "second chance" show featuring some of the same music arranged more simply for the band).

Not only one of the most boring shows I have ever seen(only beaten by Carmels last show serenity), but unfortunately guaranteed to win unless The judge look for skill and not size. (Or Tarpon Springs comes out swinging)

These high schoolers are actually performing a pretty environmentally demanding show. Lots of tempo changes and call and response between sections that are on opposite sides of the field. Whether you think it's boring or not is subjective so I'm not going to argue with you on that, but I think the judges have seen their fair share of big bands in their time. I think it takes a little bit more than a big group of kids to wow them!

Sam Wright compare their show to like Tarpon Springs, Avon, or CTJ then they don’t really do much which is why they win so much

Carmel has figured out exactly what it takes to win. Do they have the most musically challenging or action packed drill...no. BUT if you have all that and don't perform it well, you're not gonna win. They have it down to a science and I expect we'll still see more from them come finals. Their visual game is solid..mostly in thanks to their stellar color guard. They also play so beautifully. The low brass is so superb and really create such a well balanced sound. They've had some hiccups with the mellophone feature but I assume that will get worked out by finals. Overall, while you may not be blown away by excitement, their attention to detail and precise performance is unmatched. This isn't to say another band can't/won't come and beat them but they won't go down easily.

Ok, Soo how do I say this, I'm biased anyways but Carmel broke the system, it's always easy to clean easy drill and easy music plus when you name give you and automatic 90.00 it's kinda easy to do well. You think tempo changes is weird? Try marching straight quarters while playing a swing feel. Try playing in 4 different styles in your show. Try doing actually difficult things that take actual skill. "Carmel" kids aren't any better than our kids and we for sure practice more soooooo the only difference is money, show difficulty and name, and since BOA scoring doesn't reward difficulty the easier the show the better you do. If want to see an actually good band watch Avon or Blue springs or even Tarpon Springs ( although they spend WAAAAAAAAY too much money). Just please stop putting Carmel on a pedestal it does not deserve.
