New comers and those who really do not know Lagos get easily sued by the over-hyping of Lekki peninsula, called “island”, so often against good advice, unfortunately at cut-throat rents and comparative high living expense rent and lifestyle. Sadly, a year after, most find solace ( because of the perennial annual flood, traffic gridlock and cost of living) in nearby Ikoyi, V.I. (If they afford it) or the Mainland (Ikeja - the GRA/Opebi/Oregun/Alausa/Ogba axis, Magodo, Gbagada, Ogudu GRA, Ilupeju, Omole Estates, Maryland, Surulere, Yaba/Ebute Metta/ OPIC/Isheri North, Akoka and Isolo)

When building people should realise Lagos is a water State, gutter ways should be available for the flow of waters in a collection point and dispatch onwards. Most landlords builds and forget the space for other services “claiming it as their Land” and post cases build close to the roads or set shops there. I guess if Lagos state should demolish more houses, 20% of them were illegal built irrespective of building standards.

@@Priscaoriade 😊 He's correct according to the administrative division of Lagos. But at the moment both V.I and Lekki have been grouped as an island. Lagos has five administrative divisions called IBILE which is an abbreviation that stands for I=Ikeja, B=Badagry, I=Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe and also there are other local governments and local council in all of the divisions mentioned. Furthermore, we hope the state governments can put more effort in creating more underground drainage systems because Lagos as a city is below sea level, which simply means there would always be flooding.

Stop using other places to justified a failure.l have been to cairo,a little rain causes flash flood. But that's because these countries including UAE/dubai don't build their infrastructure for rainy season, they hardly experience rainfall. But lagos is in the rainforest, have you forgotten, because there is hardly any forest around. The most important infrastructure Southern Nigeria should be building is how to control rainfall e.g lakes, drainage, clean environment, town planning etc.

Where are the town council in Nigeria democracy. Millions are unemployed and there are a lot of ways to hire laborers that Nigeria is full off. Instead of greed get organized and move this country forward. Anytime in Nigeria we have to hire a lot of labors to do our neighborhood no street because it's nothing but sands no gutters this is Adeba next to the Lakowe golf course, you know they use to collect about $100,000.00 a day for a lot of years and that express highway wasn't maintained. What are you doing with the gas tax, that's the money to fix the road. Men am not satisfied with the state of the nation in 2024 because the system is not organized and focused.
