Flood Light Motion Sensor Repair

Modified a new sensor light to add a third light. Friend came over while I was working and I totally screwed up. Snipped wire nuts off without sussing them out and lost my place. THANK YOU! Spent 1-1/2 hours looking for exactly what you just provided. You are a blessing to me.

i thought you were going to repair the sensor instead of replace. i looked at the price of sensors and i could buy another light for just about the same price as the sensor, therefore, i was hoping to just "repair" the sensors i have in about 3 different lights i have, hence, watching your video. all these disposable merchandise's these days kills me. btw- i'm not knocking ya, great video for replacing, very well thought out. when i saw that title i focused in on it thinking i could repair the 3 bad sensors i have. i'll just go buy some more disposable light fixtures. thanks.

I overlapped a couple pieces if scotch disappearing tape over the hole and it works about like the old lens.

How long would u say motion sensors last before going bad?

That all depends on environment. I’d hope they last a few years anyway.

Can you shower circuit the motion sensor and add a switch instead? If so how

You absolutely bypass the motion switch. You just don’t hook it up. It’s just an interrupter basically. So you should have a hot lead from the existing switch already. Just hook that direct to the hot lead for the bulbs. Now when you flip the switch on the lights come on, off and they’re off. No motion/daylight sensor. Hope that helps.

If dual brite is on then the light will turn on dim then when motion is detected the light goes brite after a few minutes the light will go dim again

by the way the 3 hour and 6 hour and dusk to dawn on the dual brite setting just controls how long dual brite stays on after dusk

Change 'repair' to 'replace', since you did not repair the sensor.
