This is so sad to see...
An S2000 From the last Hurricane that was flooded.
The inside wiring harness was corroded, The clutch Stuck etc...
Lucky, no water got into the Engine.
We changed all the fluids and checked the car out.
Please buy some jack Stands, in case of a potential flood, Raise your car up as high as possible.

He passed a few days ago. They did a write up in S2KI. Search “Modifry founder appreciation thread, in memory of Bob” if you care leave a comment. He’s been a staple in the S2000 world and was a great guy. He will be missed.

Type r is definitely a great daily! And then some golden era Hondas needed in garage as well 😊

Yea. I agree. Not sure the FK8 and FL5 feel like a Type R to me.

John, having recovered a few underwater (although fresh water) vehicles, the areas I've had issue with (many of them covered by you) are engine, gearbox, and diff oils, water/mud/silt in the interior, rocker panels, and behind the door cards. As you mentioned, the multi layers in the body. We see crazy surface and frame rust from winter road salt, and the new enemy is a brine solution that is sprayed on the roads ahead of the snow. The problem with salt is that it dries onto the metal and reactivates corrosion if it gets wet from a rain storm. Newer cars seem to have more galvanized metal or are zinc dipped during assembly. Luckily many repair panels are available for popular cars.

Easiest solution for the emblem, I used a liquid chrome paint marker from Amazon. Doesn’t look perfect but WAY better

I’ve looked into replacing the Honda badge in the wheel but there’s no safe way to do it. It has more plastic pegs than you’d think, plastic welded to the black part of the airbag. Honda doesn’t want it becoming a projectile or anything snagging the airbag as it’s deployed. Perhaps someone could make a business out of refinishing them.

UK here too, I used MyUS. It took about 4 days from ordering to delivery to my door so really good service.A small premium to pay to have a slice of LHT in my garage 👍. Another option is John invites his Dad over and asks him to bring an extra, empty suitcase 😁.

You should make a Air to Water intake manifold similar to the JRSC, but for turbo cars.

We did make a few manifolds back in the day with 4 cores inside. It did make a very compact kit.

Those big connectors (16 pin) under the dash, is there any video of tricks to unpin those? I burned one wire going from my driver door (Lambo door hinge problems) to under the dash connector and having so much problem pinning it out because i dont want to brake it. I have googled for a month trying to find video on it. Long time follower with Florida imported AP1 to Europe 😍

Please unplug the harness from the ecu. Wires can wick moisture into the plug of the ecu and cause more damage.

Has to be a ProClip mount base at least, right? I have them in all my cars - Integra, Miata, CX5. With a magnetic mount in each, my phone is 100% solid at all times.

Speaking of jack stands, it's almost time to put my S up for the Winter. Do you recommend storing it up on jack stands?

Newer cares should have less wiring than older vehicles considering one of the selling points of CANBUS system is significantly reduced wiring.
