Well, they can't all be 10's. I wondered how far you'd be willing to wade out into the lake. I always hate it when you know there's a shot to be had, but you can't quite put it together. But, the great thing about photography is that there's always next time. Now it's about time for me to head toward the mountains and see what I can put together. 🍻

For sure, definitely a lot of opportunity at that spot and the lake in general. Just need to spend more time out there.

I've also spent a whole day looking for these trees. You went to all the same spots. LoL. The place where you went in the water seemed right but the leaves were too far up. You were at the spot on the last location but the water has gone down quite a bit. That was all under water last year and the year before.

I heard from some others that it was a bad year for it. No leaves and low water! Think I found the right spot in the end but just wasn't the best conditions.

The only thing I've ever successfully composed with non-flooded birches is my wife walking between them... maybe next time bring waders and convince someone else to go in for a moody walking shot? 😅
