@@simoncennals I think I want to try something like that. I also saw a macro challenge that I have been wanting to try where you sit somewhere in the grass for a half hour and see what you can capture. Great stuff! 💖🤗

very interesting. If you'd like to have a go again on those half underwater, half above water shots, see if you can get one of those domes for GoPro, they're really nice and will make this sort of photos easier to make. I've used it a few times, a friend of mine lend me his, and they open up a range of different shots indeed, granted that I didn't use it for landscape photography, just touristy pictures in clear water places here in Brazil...

The under ledge shots are very cool! Do you think you could get your Ricoh under there to get images like that with a better sensor?

I probably could but it would be a 28mm lens rather than 16. Probably still get some good results though.

Hi Simon, I really appreciate how creative you are! I have been to the same spots lately (just wondering how you made it past the fence at the Castle Junction bridge?). By any chance, is it possible you were walking in Banff last Friday or Saturday (Feb 23 or 24th?)? I thought I have met you there on Bear St. I was in haste so I hesitated if I should approach that person who I believed was you. But now I regret I have not tried.

Hey! You can unlatch the gate to get down to the river side. Just have to make sure you close it behind you but it's never locked. And I'm actually away for work at the moment so that wasn't me on bear street so may have saved yourself some embarrassment there ha ha! But feel free to come say hi if we do cross paths!

Great video, thanks for sharing! Were you using the photo mode on the GoPro or were you taking screen grabs from video? From the sounds of it, the hero 12 is better at taking photos, but that can always just be GoPro marketing haha!

I was using the photo mode as it shoots RAW files but only at the super wide focal length. I think the sensor in the 12 is a bit larger so I'd hope there'd be some improvement. I'd be interested in the Insta360 action can as I think that has a larger sensor. Appreciate you watching as always.
