Thank you for this amazing and awesome drone footage. What a blessed life those drivers must have had, to think police road closed signs are there for no reason. because nothing bad ever happens. Thankfully they survived and have maybe learned that such things do happen after all.

So sorry what Lincolnshire have to go through . I sincerely hope that the U.K government will support in every way to get back things in order & modernise the flood structure defences compatible to climate change. Thank you for your updates . Stay safe everyone🌻

Another great video. Our favourite route to Skegness is via Dunholme. Getting daily updates from North Shore Golf Club where only a few holes playable and no good for me as sit on buggies not allowed. Hope the van not affected. Keep up these news updates.

Only went over the bridge last week as its our only route to and from Lincoln on the A57 from Nth Notts. Crikey I cant believe how much that water level has risen in such a short while. Never ever seen that before on that part of the Trent, and thats the only road crossing between Gainsborough and Newark!!

I am eighty-five and can remember being taken to see an amphibious 'duck' at Dunham brudge when it was in flood. We were fascinated back then. I lived then and now, in Nottinghamshire, near the flooding Trent.

this is why i'd never buy a house at risk of flood, and yes that means whole areas off the list of possibilities. last time i moved i found a dream house but the moment the report showed flood risk it was a hard no.
@Metal05
@Metal05 Жыл бұрын
In any normal circumstances most of these houses are not at flood risk. It’s just been biblical rainfall in a few days on one of the longest tidal rivers in the U.K. I live close by and use the road from Torksey to Newark through girton etc often. This is just very bad luck.

They need to start dredging the rivers again. They aren't looking after the rivers and that is why we have flooding. This will continue and nothing will stop it, as the world gets warmer, the rivers will get higher. If people are looking to buy a new house, DON'T buy it next to a river. All rivers have flood plains. If they put barriers up in one place, then it will force the water to flood in another.
@mickharrison9004
@mickharrison9004 Жыл бұрын
As with a lot of things our government priorities are dire towards our own people ,dredging has been mentioned for many years obviously no dredging ,the rivers are always going to get higher in places it's similar with coastal erosion,people losing there houses near coasts it's time we priorertized ,our own people and country .
@Shimmy246
@Shimmy246 Жыл бұрын
I’m fed up with reading about dredging. It’s the new climate deniers rallying cry. No amount of dredging would prevent this. It’s rained virtually none stop for months, plus a months rain fell in just a few days after storm Henk.
@mickharrison9004
@mickharrison9004 Жыл бұрын
@@Shimmy246 that's ridiculous if there was regular dredging system in place ,it would make no difference crazy words the rivers would be simply deeper and take more water ,without flooding everywhere .
@gordonhudspith1214
@gordonhudspith1214 Жыл бұрын
@@Shimmy246 I absolutely agree with you. It would help in the short term, but I know that it will never sort it out.

@@gordonhudspith1214 ikr. Some people think dredging would solve all flooding problems. Dredging is not an effective way to reduce flood water levels. It also damages plants and animals living in the river and can cause other problems such as increased erosion and higher flood risk downstream.

Great footage. Side note, How many times do you actually say actually, actually? Almost as bad as "basically" or "obviously" which also actually get overused unnecessarily, actually, by too many people especially across the Midlands.

Wonder if this road will ever be redesigned and raised further at the Lincoln side with increasing flood events the sub power station is the right idea raised on stilts near the toll booths. The driver of that vehicle is lucky to be alive. I know two persons died yesterday in Lincolnshire with the car submerged in water. Not that location however.
